Brenden Morrow signs with the Blues for 1 year [$1.5m] [NTC]

According to Josh Rimer, Blues offered Morrow a 1 year, 1M deal.

Josh Rimer (@JoshRimerHockey) tweeted at 12:44pm - 22 Sep 13:

Morrow offer from Blues is believed to be around $1 million on 1yr deal. Morrow was originally asking for $2 million when FA opened July 5th (https://twitter.com/JoshRimerHockey/status/381836465715441664)

Morrow has a history with Armstrong, Hull and Hitchcock.

If this happens that it likely means Cracknell goes on waivers.

It's funny, I thought it would be a good fit, he was probably a Blues fan because his favorite player was Brett Hull, now that Hull is back with the Blues as an executive vice president, and he's good friends with Morrow, this signing wouldn't surprise me at all. Good luck in St. Louis if true.

1 year 1 mil is pretty low risk, in fact i'd take him back in Pittsburgh at that price.

I could see Morrow fitting in with St. Louis. He does have past connections

I wouldn't. I think he's too injury prone to be worth the investment at this point...I'd rather have Kobasew

I'm not sure where he fits though, we barely have cap room but we will send cracknell down so i guess it will even out. Will it be sobotka, lapierre, morrow on the fourth line?

I'm really kinda meh on this. I would trust Morrow over Jaskin or Rattie at this stage as a top 9 fill-in. It gives us even more depth and a veteran presence (which we may or may not need) which makes me wonder if this is a result of the response (or lack thereof) of the hit on Sobotka.

And I doubt we sign Whitney if Morrow signs. Unless Whitney accepts a 600k/1yr deal, which is possible.

It is nice that players are fighting over what they perceive to be a winning Blues team. It's a nice change from 5-6 years ago where we had to pay Kariya 6 mil a year.

Just what the Blues need: yet another fourth liner.

super slow player fitting into to a fast hockey system? sounds like a warm body they can flip at TDL.

I'd rather have both and get rid of Glass, plus it looks like Vokoun will be on LTIR which frees up cap space.

It's really not as bad as Blues fans are making it out to be. A veteran leader is something we could use and he's a top 9 fill-in. If Paajarvi doesn't produce, he's another option that could work.

Maybe he'll be our version of Penner for the Kings.

I'd be pumped If I were a Blues fan. I think he'll be a great fit on your team.

The Blues are gonna be damn good regardless.

You'll most likely regret it not far into the season. He just has no legs anymore.

The Blues sure do like having an over the hill forward on the roster. From Arnott to Langenbrunner to Nichol and now Morrow.

I liked Arnott. Slow, but effective. The others not so much.

He looked alright on the Pens until he split his knee cap in the playoffs. But over an 82 game season he's certainly not going to be any quicker than he was back with Dallas.
