Indeed. Shades of Couturier.

What would Philly want for Max Talbot?

In the end, I'm thinking it'll be Coborne for Curtis Hamilton and a mid-round pick.

Joensuu-Gordon-Jones (JJ has earned a look Gordon is not overused Jones is an alright third liner)
Ryan Hamilton-Mark Arcobello-Tyler Pitlick (three best fringe players in camp/preseason)
Extra: Anton Lander Mike Brown (fine 14 and 14 forwards)

If anything what is needed is a LW to bump Smyth down... that would cost the 1st rounder though
Yeah, I don't think you can go with Smyth anywhere above the 3rd line

No. But if the Sens had Yakupov instead of Zibanejad, I doubt the Sens would have made it.

He's a warm body filling a job... and has played with Hemmer lots before... in pre season has helped Hall make the move to C by hanging high and knocking the puck back in when it starts to leak out... is he going to score very much... no... is he going to give the other two high flying skaters some board support... yes

Really we hate on him lots but he is just fine when skating with the puck or when stationed in his office... it is when he has to do anything even sort of skilled that he loses it or gets left behind in transition

So no then... so it does not make sense for the Oilers to trade Yakupov for him when he is a far more advanced offensive player... case closed

Oil need defense, not offense. They don't lose that much offensively and get better defensively.

So again the Oilers make the playoffs with Zibanejad instead of Yakupov?

Always a good laugh on the main boards. First it was Kadri is greater than RNH and today it's Zibanejad is greater than Yakupov.

If you notice the Sens are adding Smith and 3rd in the proposal. Smith especially is not a negligible piece

Apologies from all rational Sens fans.

David Legwand? 1 year left at $4.5M. Could be a decent stop gap that provides experience and a good mix between offense and defense.

A pick and a prospect would get it done.

Yakupov >> Zibanejad.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to the deke through the defender's legs, not the shot on goal...

How about reading the thread? Not one Sens fan has said Zibby > Yakupov. But its much closer than Oiler fans are admitting, considering everything we Sens fans have said (not going to repeat them yet again, you can read the thread).

Yakupov lead the oilers in goals last season - hardly a negligible loss of offense.

It is probably best if you don't... anyone who was lucky enough to miss those "arguments" first time around is better off for it...

You can't shrug off legitimate arguments to try to make yours look better.

Ok. Well then we'll give you Schultz for Karlsson, and to even it out, we'll even throw in Ryan Jones

I don't really want MacT to hit the panic button and make a panic trade from a position of weakness. Hopefully the Oilers have their pro scouts on top of their game and the team can pick up a player off waivers to fill the roster spot until the guys are ready to go.

Won't be a major trade. Maybe a waiver wire pickup or they bring back Smithson. Yes we need depth at centre but MacT might be holding out to get a better gauge of the market out of TC.

If you think Zibanejad is quantity, not quality, you either know nothing about our players, never watch our team, know nothing about hockey, or all of the above. Or you are just a huge homer. Not to mention that Zibby is a center, and centers have more value than comparable wingers. The proposal you are referring to is more than fair to the Oilers.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You sir, are ridiculous.

Oilers maybe should take a flyer on Kyle Wellwood. Has decent hands can play with Perron and Yakupov on the 2nd line for a few games.

Nugent Hopkins should be back by the middle of the month I would think.

lol at dealing Yakupov.
