Another 2 points and 11:19 of ice time for EDM's Bogdan Yakimov. Very impressive start to the KHL season.

the kid is strong like a bull.

started the game as a 13th F, played only just above 7 mins including OT, had 4 shots and won his single draw.
That goal is just obscene. Something like that is every bit as difficult to pull off as those highlight reel dispy doodles. He charges into the corner, fights off two defenders along the boards, one of whom is basically holding onto him, while not only maintaining possession, but actually keeping the puck on his stick most of the time. Then he pushes the defenders away, makes a sharp turn, and bangs it in. If he can fix up his footspeed, we could have a steal here.

Platzer could end up being a really sneaky pick in the 4th round. He was buried in London's lineup last year and it was clear throughout camp that he has a great shot and a decent amount of skill. He's someone I'll be watching closely this year.

Chase is another guy I think we might have stolen late in the draft. I was surprised he went that low - he's already a great pest and if he can improve his offensive production to around a point-per-game this season (which it looks like he will), he could end up being a solid 3rd/4th liner in the future.

Hey guys was at the Vancouver Giants game last night so i figured i would give a quick report on Jackson Houck... He was not noticeable at all he maybe made 2-3 decent checks, other than that looked very fatigued possibly due to being at the Oilers camp. He should be the one taking charge...ill keep updating u whenever i go to games though.

Platzer can play center and wing.

I believe Chase is the same way, but I'm not as familiar with him.

Ronning played a pretty good first game, his positioning was good and you can tell with a little seasoning he will do great....he has a good stick and very shifty skating...got an assist on the first goal as well.

That's good! If we can find a decent goalie, I don't think the team is THAT bad. Have you heard anything about what games Benson's going to play?

Nobody mentioned Muir??? Goal and assist in first USHL game... had a hand in both Indiana goals... 4-2 loss though to NTDP

Team probably won't be much good... but Muir should get lots of points... could be real darkhorse for us in four years after college

@dantencer: Edmonton Oilers prospect Dillon Simpson (Craig's son) named captain of UND Fighting Sioux. Matt Greene held same "C" before joining Oilers.
