Reaves, Porter, Cracknell

Cracknell will most likely be sent to the minors. The top 9 is what will happen and the 4th line is my guess.
That would be what I'd expect as well.

Because when the 3rd line inevitably plays tentative and lacks energy Morrow and Sobotka can bring some physicality to get them going again.

There's going to be times IMO that our 3rd line will be Morrow-Sobotka-Tarasenko.

He's a good addition. He's not a top-6 player anymore, but he adds grit, leadership and experience to the bottom-6. I didn't want to see him go, personally.

Only potential is the Blues being a pretty speedy team. It might be hard for Morrow to fit in and find chemistry.

That's a scary thought.

Because Porter does nothing but hit.
His defensive game is below average, he doesn't put up any points, was barely acceptable in the FO circle and he isn't effective on either special teams unit.

People seriously need to stop over-rating Porter and Cracknell.
They are high-energy guys and threw the body around admirably, but they don't get any kind of results on the ice. They weren't putting up points and they weren't shutting teams down.

Even if Morrow's on his last leg, he can still score some goals and block some shots.
That's more results than anything the CPR line was doing for us.

About time he signed somewhere. He actually got more than the Blues wanted to give. But he didn't get his 2 that he wanted.

The #stlblues are bringing in Morrow as a 4th line player who may be able to help on the 3rd line at times.

Great price and a solid third line player. Would have loved him back on the Penguins for that price.

Great 4th line. I like our first line but it lags far behind the first lines of Western Conference contenders.

Lines 2/3 have a lot of questions to answer.
-Can Tarasenko take the next step towards becoming a consistent top 6 performer?
-Can Stewart find more consistency? Will he be as fired up considering he has a 2 year contract?
-Can Berglund repeat a good year? Or will he revert back to being a 35-40 point player?
-What Derek Roy are we getting? This is probably the biggest question.
-Will Schwartz put up production or will it be a lot of hard work that leads to nothing like in the playoffs?
-What is Paajarvi going to provide?

Morrow is just insurance in case of injuries and if Stewart starts to slack off or if Paajarvi isn't ready to contribute as much as we'd hope.

The Blues now have a stacked 4th line full of players who are capable of playing higher:

Morrow-LaPierre-Sobotka

That's an incredible 4th line, I don't know what fellow Blues fans are complaining about?

Hopefully they can play a more traditional shutdown role and frees Backes' line up to play against other 3rd lines vs being forced to also play a shutdown role. That alone could free up some extra scoring.

We won't see the precious CPR line again...

Everything I have seen from Morrow in recent seasons leaves me thinking why bother? I have no delusions of awesomeness when it comes to CPR. Morrow just looks like he is skating in sand. Fits with Hitchcock though.

scary..
The Blues will be good yet again, but good enough to challenge for the Western Conference Championship? I'm not so sure.

I really don't see a 30 goal scorer in the bunch and Roy is going to get manhandled by some of the bigger centers in the West.

Funny because Backes has scored 30 twice and Stewart has scored 28 and been on pace for 30 two other times, once where he broke his hand in a fight and missed time and last season which was cut short by the lockout.

True, but he has to prove he is over his injuries. He has real potential to regain his form by playing with Stewart and Schwartz who will work his ass off to feed them as many pucks as possible.

I like the pickup. Low risk for toughness. Worst case scenario he leaves at the end of the year.

Good bottom six leader

Offence should be fine when you have one the best Top 6 on D in the league behind you.

Meh, what Armstrong wants, he gets. I don't like the Morrow signing but I'll root for him as long as he helps this franchise win a ing Cup here in the lou.

This screams 4th line PP specialist to me. I'm fine with that.

He did have 14 points in 15 games with the Pens before his knee injury. Can a Pens poster enlighten us on who his linemates were during that time?
