But yeah, with immediate issues at the C position, MacT decides after a long night of drinking that now is the perfect time to try to sort out the teams issues on D.

Eller would be perfect but I doubt Montreal would part with him unless it were a huge overpay.

Yup, any deal with Eller would be in a package with Eberle or Yakupov coming back so both sides will take a pass, waiver pick up will be Oil's best bet for a short term fix

I can see a Joe Colborne fitting in with Edmonton. Probably a 3rd and mid-level prospect to Toronto for Colborne.

Da costa from the sens will provide more offense for the oilers in a top 6 role than jim o'brien.. job in the top 6 is as bad as boyd gordon in the top 6

There will be a spot in the top six for three weeks, then it will be a fourth line center role. Personally, I am ok with using Hall and Lander for three weeks if the option is trading for a guy who can be a top sixer, but can't be a bottom sixer as well as Lander or Gordon can.

Yeah but if DaCosta came in and did well he could easily make Hemsky a tradable asset and replace him. He can play center and wing.

I really hope they take a chance on Dacosta, i want to watch him play with some good wingers on a top 2 line for an extended period of time at the NHL level.
He's so fun to watch. Elite level vision, passing skills and very slippery one on one with great shot.

i just cant believe that he isnt an everyday NHL player in someone's top 6.
The problem is no one can really find time to test a player like him out in the bigs in that key a position unless its a young team with no chance at the playoffs or like in EDM case a severe case of short termish injuries.

Im convinced people will be somewhat shocked at his ability.
They would be getting a player with 2 years of grooming and is ready to play.

Lots of decent players out there being turned down..> Brunner, Dacosta, Latandresse, MayRay still on a PTO, etc.

So I guess what your really asking is for a 6ft.4 /
230lbs power center, 23 years old, has already scored 35 goals last year, had at least 4 fights and clearly won all 4 and also Is under a full 8 year contract at 3 mil per year. As soon as you get an offer you will look at your current roster for overpriced, old, non-productive worn-out players you can DUMP OFF on this idiot GM.

If EDM wants unproven players then can stick what they already have in Arcobello, Acton and Lander and see if a couple of them can be stop gaps til Nuge returns.

If all you're looking for is a guy to take face-offs, be defensively accountable, and know hockey, any of these guys could be available for the right price (wingers with touch):

Adam Burish
Andrew Desjardins
Freddie Hamilton
James Sheppard

Dustin Jeffrey for a 4th? He has skill and some speed, could catch lightning in a bottle in Edmonten. Bylsma likely wont use him in Pitt and he'll watch the opener from the pressbox. This is similar to the Letestu trade to Clb couple years ago

Nice.. We can ice a line of Hamiltons

Curtis-Freddie-Ryan

Dougie would be next!!

Edit: Too bad we are divisional rivals now.. The 2 teams could have been good trading partners.

Due respect, but the Oilers are not a rival to the Sharks... yet. Soon probably, but not yet.

And I don't see how any animosity would exist yet anyway, at least not enough to prevent a mutually agreeable deal. They haven't even played a game as divisional rivals yet.

Edit: It is a long-term hosing to get placed in Edm's division though, one that I hadn't really conceptualized yet.

Just wondering, what would guys be willing to add to Eller to get Eberle? Yaks is off limits.
