What you never went some where and felt intimidated?

When you walk somewhere with a big dog beside you, you feel a whole lot safer then when you walk alone.

Prepare for the Pacific version of this...
I think this is a realistic occurence.

Eakins will dress Eager, Brown and Mac. Torts will counter with Weise, Sestito and someone else cause Kassian will be suspended.

The guy I feel sorry for is Sestito. He is a big guy but not a good fighter for his size. Mac will probably own him.

This could be a bad thing for Edmonton.

They now have MacIntyre and Brown ? Smid is a willing combatant, but other than that there's not much. MacIntyre is a psycho and will likely flip is lid at the wrong time. If he does it against a team that's deep in fighters, that could turn ugly real quick for Edmonton.

He needs to go out and do his job, not freak out like he did in the AHL.

I don't think it matters what Kassian wants.

MacIntyre knows this is his last chance. I think he'll realize that being paid for 50 games and being suspended for 32 games is alot more money than 65K in the AHL.

Lol, this is funny.

MacT didn't go and get Steve Mac to go and beat up Kassian and Wiess.

He picked him up so players will think twice about going after our players in games down the road.

If someone wants to throw a cheap shot, they now know, next faceoff they will have to answer for it, Big Mac will instigate a fight, they might fight, they might not. But, the idea is, to deter this from happening.

You guys sound childish going on about this.

MacT just wanted a guy on the roster, so when games do get out of hand, like it almost did in that Van@Edm preseason game a few nights ago.

Scurry back to the bench? How about scurry around MacIntyre and score?!

I'm sure the Canucks would be ecstatic anytime the Oilers put MacIntyre on the ice w/ the Sedin's.

You laugh at MacT but you forget that we can dress Eager, Brown, SMac..

Look at what happened to Clutterbuck when Hall finally had enough with him.

It is going to be a long season, lets see how healthy Hank can stay this year....
HUH? This is the same Canucks team that people called 'soft' last year... but now they're a bunch of goons?!

Sestito, Weise and Kassian do NOT make a 'hit squad'.

I bet Dan Tencer is spouting is usual BS and people are lapping it up and running with it.

Edit: By the way, hits were 15-14 for Vancouver in the game. But of course, HIT SQUAD!!!!!!!

How it usually works, unless there's something serious. Fans will puff out their chest and call for revenge, the team will try to win a hockey game. Eventually everyone forgets.

Oilers fans are hilarious. This is like when they picked up Darcy hordichuk for toughness and he came out and said all the right things in the media. He sure had an impact too.

Sure, outside of Eager, Brown, and MacIntyre there are no real fighters. But it's not like we can't ice 5 guys onto the ice following a fight in case things get out of hand.

Hall, Eberle, RNH, Gagner, Yakupov, Hemsky, Perron, Smyth, Lander, J.Schultz, Petry, Potter, Larsen.

Oh my god, what an intimidating group of players! The issue with having a dedicated goon who can't play hockey is what happens when Macintyre gets booted out of the game and all of these players are left to fend for themselves? If you look around the league, the teams that are actually tough (LA, Boston, Tor, etc.) have players that are both tough and useful throughout their lineup. One goon doesn't automatically make a team though, it just equips them with somewhat of an answer for one other player on the opposing team.

you can tell he is afraid because he knows he'll be challenged:

if he declines, then he looks like a puss;

if he accepts, then he gets his block knocked.

tough spot to be in

Honestly this is quite comical how many years have the Oilers and fans say that they will injure the Sedins or our other skilled players... still waiting folks, it will never happen.

Let's take a look at how many charley-horses occur in the NHL and compare it to guys having their jaws broken by opposing gorillas' hockey sticks...

Like it's been said before, Kassian may not have been targeting Gagner's head, but after missing that check, he was not in any way preventing that incident from happening. A reckless play and he'll likely be suspended for it. Kudos.

As for the signing, I'm assuming Weise's attempted head-shot on Hall was more of a reason to bring a nuclear deterrent in.

Canucks fans are right. SMac can't skate, but Eager and Brown can.

Yeah, it sounds like he's shaking in his boots.
Fans lap up this whole retribution thing but the reality is that there rarely is retribution.

A one-line quote shows you without question that he is afraid?!?!

Please elaborate.

Its so hard to live in the legendary Canucks shadow. 43+ years?

What to stop Eakins throwing out a line of MacIntyre-Hall-Eberle vs Kassion-Sedin-Sedin?
Kassian better hope he can skate back to the bench really fast.

This isn't a revenge signing at all. Besdies, The Canucks power play will probably be worse this year so even the Oilers don't have much to worry about on the PK

There is nothing wrong with Mc Tavish sending a message by picking the guy up. However, I do not think this is going to end well. The guy is dangerous and does not know the boundaries of his job.

If the Oilers want to dress Brown, Eager and MacIntyre in the same game, they may as well just hand the other team the 2 points.

100000% agree.

I don't blame MacT for wanting to add toughness, but MacIntyre is not the right solution IMO.

The Canucks had 3 injuries in the last game alone.

You are one of those guys who post but don't actually watch right?

And never say never. Accidents happen all the time.
