Kovalev the new Chuck Norris?

He's looking real badass with that grim face. I haven't seen a hint of a smile from him since last season. He's giving Bob Gainey a run for his money.

P.S. When Chuck Norris works out, he doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the world down

Looking at Kovalev the last few games, I think the guy doesn't have a soul.

I knew he'd start coming through, I never lost faith and bashed him.

Ah but he demonstrated such passion tonight. And what's the soul without passion?

Don't be a fool, Radek Bonk is the closest thing to Chuck Norris we've got.

Well, he's a Soviet, and we all know that Commies Have No Soul.

This explains everything.

Kovalev doesn't like the new goal song, that's why he never smiles after scoring

On Bonk's goal last night, he was out with Samsanov and Kovalev - was that just coincidence, or did he replace Plekanec on the 2nd for a couple of shifts?

Did anyone else feel that Kovalev seemed happier and celebrated more than he has all year with Bonk and Samsanov - they looked good together.

Maybe something like this would work in regard to the second line while Higgins is out, although I know everyone is reluctant to split Bonk and Johnson:

Latendresse - Koivu - Ryder
Samsanov - Bonk - Kovalev
Perezhogin - Plekanec - Johnson
Murray - Begin - Downey/Dandenault (7 dman scenario)

Then when Higgins gets back try slipping him into the 2nd line centre spot and move Bonk and Plekanec back down.

What do you think for a temporary fix?

Let's see how long this lasts. According to my calculations, Kovalev should start floating any day now.

I actually think Kovalev will eventually have to take a few games off to let his knee heal properly. It's clearly bothering him. Maybe when Higgins comes back. The ideal time is a homestand against teams that are less than average. Unfortunately I see no such stretches.

I hope he doesn't need surgery again but I have this bad feeling about it.

Chuck Norris....pffft.

Kovalev eats Chuck Norris, Dolf Lundgren, Steven Segal, Wesley Snipes, AND Jean Claude Van Damme for breakfast.

Twice on Sundays.

Well. Philadelphia comes this Saturday, and Florida will be next Tuesday.

That's the two worst teams in the East, two of the three under .500, the third being...Ottawa !

With the very competitive Eastern conference and the calendar, you won't have better than such a stretch.

Kovalev doesn't check players, players lay down when they see Kovalev.

Only one thing can keep Kovalev from scoring; his mercy.
