Mannheim - Jokerit 1-2 OT

No points for Teravainen but according to Jokerit tweets he arranged a bunch of scoring opportunities and was on ice during the OT goal.

The last pre-season game on Saturday.

It's only preseason and people are saying TT is invisible (earlier in the thread)? Its pre-season, he is probably just feeling it out, he's not going to go balls out for meaningless hockey.

A couple of Swedish prospects got their seasons underway today in the Allsvenskan (Men's - 2nd tier).

Robin Norell (2013, 4th Rd.) assisted on the game winner in Djurgardens 3-2 overtime win over Troja/Ljungby. He was +3 and put 4 shots on goal.

Robin Press (2013, 7th Rd.) went scoreless in Sodertalje's 2-1 win over Rogle. He finished with an even rating (1 for, 1 against) and had 1 shot on goal.

2013 2nd rounder, Carl Dahlstrom, didn't make the opening roster for Linkopings' senior team who play in the top tier of Swedish hockey (now called the SHL). He is listed on the U20 roster and they play their first game on Sunday.

Got my first extended look at the USA U18's against the Steel today. Team is looking especially stacked this season. There's a lot to like on that roster.

Robin Press scored a powerplay goal and added an assist in Sodertalje's 3-4 shootout loss to Mora. He was +1.

2013 4th rounder Robin Norell has had surgery on his face/jaw/teeth after taking a puck in the face.

A quick search using twitter and google translate, suggests that he's out for a month.

Svedberg outright axed.

He's on an AHL contract so unless he made the NHL roster the only other option was to release him. He'll go back to Rockford.

But Svedberg looked really good..because he is on a Rockford contract does this mean no nhl team can grab him? If so, Hawks can still sign him for next year...If we had D roster spots available,he would have made my team....

No, I think because he's on an AHL-only contract with Rockford that any NHL team could sign him if they wanted at this point. If that is wrong someone please correct me, but I'm pretty sure that is the case.

You're correct, anyone can sign him.

But I can't think of a time where an NHL team has signed a young player on an AHL contract with another team's AHL affiliate.

My memory might be faulty on that one, but it might also be one of those GM "gentleman's agreements" like with RFA offer sheets.

Chicago Blackhawks ‏@NHLBlackhawks 4m
The #Blackhawks have assigned eight players: D. LeBlanc, T. Broadhurst, P. Danault, B. Froese, K. Beach, A. Raanta, B. Mills, M. Shalunov.

If Beach is on the list, does that mean he cleared waivers?

Yes.

Glad Nordstrom is still there too. At least for one more game. Was hoping Shalunov would make it one more game too.

He played pretty well. Made a few nice plays. He's still got some rounding out to do with his game though. Overall, he was solid and flashed some of the transitional playmaking that he's shown throughout his career.

Jokerit beat Lukko at home 2-1 after SO. Teräväinen scored in his second attempt in the extra rounds of the shootout to seal the win.

Poorly. He stuck out moreso than probably any other prospect, although to be fair, he was also playing more minutes. He had good offensive instincts, but was lost as soon as the puck was on the other side of the ice. He's still a solid prospect, but will have to work on his defensive position for another year or two in Rockford before he can even be considered for a call-up.

Probably going to see something like this for Rockford:

Mills - Pirri - Morin
Mullane - LeBlanc - McNeill
Shalunov - Danault - Winchester
T.Broadhust - Froese - Ross

Stanton - Clendening
Dahlbeck - Olsen
Peckham - Svedberg

Raanta
Simpson

I expect Alex Broadhurst will be re-assigned to London at some point.

Did the Hogs sign Shalunov?

He was going there for a tryout

I'm assuming he'll be signed by them at some point. He's good enough to play in their top-9.

Good question. The Hogs announced today that they signed Gleason and Shea, but no mention of Shalunov
