Yeah fair enough, I just looked at the line up and the new division you guys are in and I see a lot of you saying how solid the line up looks and I don't see it... but fair enough. I don't mean to be a hater. You're not in the Leafs division so I wish you lots of success till the playoffs!

Nothing at all. I was simply expressing my opinion about your opinion..

I don't think the Devils are a lock for the playoffs but they're certainly close. I put them in the 7-10 range conference wise.

Fellow Devils fans: Let's not turn yet another thread into an "attack anyone who thinks the Devils won't be good" thread - please.

I think it's a good deal this year, with the potential to be a great deal next year, if he performs well this season.

Sheltered player who was the benefactor of playing with an elite 2 way forward in Zetterberg.

Good deal.

Devils don't have a true #1 line, but we will be rolling 4 solid lines all season. There's nothing flashy here, but it's solid/ Most teams can't say the same thing. As for our defense, we allowed the fewest shots against/game last season and I expect it to be similar again this season. With Schneider in there only facing 20-25 shots a game, we should be able to do alright. Not a lock for the playoffs or anything, but we'll be contending for a spot.

It'll be interesting to see how he does. He was good for the Wings but then hit the wall in
February. He probably wasn't used to the grind of an NHL season, especially a shortened one with an even tighter schedule.

Great offensive talent but needs to be more responsible defensively if he wants to stay on the top two lines. I think that was his beef with Detroit. It sounded like he wanted a guaranteed spot in the top 6 and Holland/Babcock wouldn't do it.

I don't think there's a team in the Metro division that doesn't have a huge question mark at some position or another. Compared to some of the other Metro clubs, I think we have some balance. But no top end scorer or top end playmaking defenseman. Just guys we hope are "solid." Sounds like the most "Devils" Devils team to me. Except for that bit about the HoF defensemen.

But in the East, Boston is still the only team that seems truly "complete" to me.

He'll get soft minutes with NJ too while Elias-Zajac-Jagr get the toughs. Glad you approve though

Yeah really excited to have this player at that price. I was sold on him back when rumors of a deal with the Devils first surfaced, and he seems to have impressed the coaches in camp thus far

Will miss him in Detroit, he is not going to blow your socks off and was a bit soft at times but when he finds room he gets good shots off that fool a lot of goalies. Really enjoyed his play I think you guys will be happy espcially with a contract that is respectable between the 2nd 3rd line.

Bull Crap...I spent all morning watching video of Brunner....A large majority of his goals were from his shot or going to the net. That is not a benefactor of playing with Elite forwards.

The kid has a very good shot and that has absolutely nothing to do with Zetterberg.

That's a solid club.
Not bad at all, to be honest.

Weak down the middle.

This team should be good enough to finish as a 6, or maybe even 5 seed in the East.

This is a way better team than what NJ had last year. I'm really excited for the upcoming season, and somehow Lou has managed to wipe away the bad taste of Parise, Clarkson and Kovalchuk. Of course, the games still have to be played, and nothing is set in stone.

Nevertheless, Devils fans should be happy right now. The rest of the division, probably not so much

I highly doubt those will be the centers..

I'm thinking Zajac, Henrique or Zajac and Elias as 1/2

And I'm pretty sure Brunner is going to get a long look at playing with Elias because they did look very comfortable together and Elias sung his praises.

3/4 is a little more open right now.

I think people are focussing on Kovy and Clarkson leaving, and forgetting me jettisoned Sully, Poni and all the rest of the desperate trash we picked up during last season. deep is much deeper, even if we are missing elite 1L talents
