How is Joel Rechlicz a professional hockey player? 15 points in 8 seasons of hockey at any level.

It's really sad how "players" like him can last in professional hockey for so long

Tbf I cannot think of a worse player (less hockey skill) who has played in the NHL than Rechlicz! Anyone think of any?

Guys like Colton Orr, Shelley, McGrattan, Ryan Reaves, Parros, Rosehill, Scott Parker, Bollig, Jared Boll even Riley friggin Cote have shown in juniors, college, ECHL or AHL that they can actually play hockey and put up points, some of them close to or over 1PPG!

Off the top of my head only John Scott and Steve MacIntyre are even close to Rechlicz in terms of lack of hockey ability. There are probably more though. And yeh, neither of those two should be in the NHL.

There has to be someone from the late 90s who "tops" him.

Lucic vs Rechlicz

Say what you will about Bruins annoucer Jack Edwards, but he makes things exciting. His highlight during the fight? Has to be this gem:

"Rechlicz is being reckless with his face! He's assaulting Lucic's knuckles with his nose!"

Ex Flyer Chris McAllister is the worst I can think of... and he was definitely a better hockey player than Rechlicz, he had at least some skill. I saw him play in the EIHL in England in the two seasons he played over in England, and he looked one of the worst players on the ice some games, especially 04-05, he hardly even fought either!

Hearing David Clarkson is definitely disputing the 10-game suspension and something from PA should be made public on that later today.

I'm guessing something along the lines of goon attacking star player.

Clarkson gets 10 regular season games, but can still play in the pre-season.

Kessel gets three pre-season games and will be back for the start of the regular season.

Something doesn't quite add up there... mostly that Clarkson is eligible for further pre-season hockey, I guess.

Paul Bissonnette is still playing preseason games as well & will serve his suspension once the Coyotes start the regular season.

I guess since it's such a black & white rule they can't get around it & want it to take effect during the regular season where the players spot & caphit remains on the roster in addition to the 10 games.

Sam Gagner may be out for two months (according to Bobby Mac tweet)... and some Canuck fans were saying the Kassian suspension was too harsh because Gagner would be back before Kassian; does this mean the Kassian suspension should be increased now?

That would be hilarious. If only that would happen.

Beautiful play by Nurse to take the puck around the Rangers net and slip a pass onto Eberle's stick for an easy goal. As the TSN announcers rightly pointed out, the Rangers probably couldn't have played it worse.

Just imagine if a Flyer took not one but two swings with his stick at a player in an attempt to injure. I can not believe 3 preseason game suspension is all he got. Am I missing something here?

That is what I don't understand: as a guy like Rechlicz, how do you even get a shot to play when you had 6 points in your juniors career?

His fists, there's still a high demand for goons in the AHL.

Bryz and Pitt?

Please Please..Pitt sign Bryz!

Anyway..doesn't surprise me Bryz is enjoying time with his family which he should but as I noted I think he lost his passion for hockey and his hockey family (team). That contract may have killed his career for good but it would be nice to see him in Pitt so we can torch him..

Quote:
I spoke with Ilya Bryzgalov's agent Ritch Winter yesterday. Wanted to see if Bryz was available to chat, "No Bryz is taking full advantage of his time to workout and spend quality time with his family," Winter Said. I then tried to find out if he was in North America or overseas, "He is here and we appreciate your interest."

So by here, I got the impression that Bryz is skating and workout out in Philly where it's believed he still owns a home with his family. Bryz did get some interest from the Florida Panthers before they inked UFA Tim Thomas to a PTO last week. So what teams would be first in line for Bryz's services? To be honest, with Tomas Vokoun being out god knows how long, the Penguins might be a good fit.

I think he is only still here for his kids. I really don't know if he intends on playing. Gosh, must be nice, able to go to the rink everyday, workout and collect a million or so a year doing NOTHING.

Sure. But his gross salary for this season was cut by $6.36 million or 80%. That's got to sting at least a little.

I think initially, but then you realize you're making more money than 95% of the country and doing absolutely nothing.

Well to be fair he was doing nothing when he was playing here too.
