Is he paired with Karlsson? He does not get enough credit, a guy that really knows the game and is a very steady presence that is part of any winning team.

I didn't watch the pre-season, but on Karlsson ''big'' statistical year, he was playing with Kuba.

In his prime Komisarek was the best defencive dman.

Leadership, hits, defensive awereness, intimidation, etc.

All his game was built on terror. He used to intimidate players. When Lucic destroyed him and humiliated him, he never was the same. Then, he was scared to hit. Players knew they had nothing to be afraid of in fights. He lost his confidence. Suckes in Toronto. Bang.

You haven't heard the latest news? It's quite fine to be dirty in this league.

I find it hard to believe that Lucic destroyed the man that much. I am sure it was a tough loss for Komisarek because he had a rivalry with Lucic dating to the previous season, but I don't think that alone ended him. For one, the whole team collapsed that season. Everybody started to stink. Komisarek's good buddy Higgins also went downhill that year and was never the same again. Before that, Higgins showed a lot of promise. He scored 20+ goals in each of his first three seasons getting close to 30 in the third. He was on an upward trajectory as a young player, but the tide also turned for him around the same general period.

I don't think Komisarek became scared to play though. He was still pretty physical after that. He delivered some good hits in Toronto, and I think he fought Lucic once or twice as a Leaf.
