Begin at the All-Star Game...

I've just read this on Canoe.

It's in french but it seems that fellow habs bloggers decided that Steve Begin should be at the All-Star Game for his contribution to the team. Even François Gagnon wrote about this on his blog and he got bashed...

No offense to Steve who i think means a lot to the team but if each teams send their 4th line players, nobody would watch the All Star Game...

Not terrible at all, but not like in the past. But I'm not worried about that, since a couple of games, he's getting better.

Even if i'm a big Bégin's fan, I think he should not go at the All Star Game, could be funny, but would steal the place of someone who deserve it more.

No teams send 3rd or 4th liners and if we do its hands down Mike Johnson.

Steve deserves to be there as much as Rory Fitzpatrick, if not more ... So I dunno what you guys are talking about...

You don't understand that his game was different because he was playing center . The center is the one who has to be more care about the defensive , to protect his wings , who are the one who have to forecheck .

Begin said himself that he was more confortable as a wing , because his game was more suited for that . But if he looked less active and physical , it's only about he played center .

Saddly , you won't understand it , because i am on your ignore list ...

I don't want to see Begin at the all-star game, I wonder why people do that? Maybe because nobody likes the all-star game. Begin won't make it better though, why not do it for Markov, Huet or Higgins?

Bingo!

Worse thing is like many other posters have pointed out, Begin's game has been quite deficient this year compared to what we're used to.

Yeah, that was mean on my part. Sorry, eventhough I did it on purpose.

Well, i just cant help, but think it'd be a lot of fun watching Begin running after the all-stars in the corner telling us afterward: "They said we had to bring the best skills we got in this game, i was the best hitter on the ice, that's for sure"

I have watched every possible game since I was a kid (save for a few years when I was a teen) and I've probably only seen five or six all-star games in my life. They've almost always been a joke and a waste of time.

That said, I do like all-star weekend. Not for the skills events as much for the interviews and comraderie between players of opposing teams. I also like the GM meetings that usually take place and the rumours that absolutely swirl.

it's just few young fans that are trying to " be interresting " and try to sale the people to vote for Bégin . But i don't see how they could find enough dudes to do that foolish thing .

This is a bad version of the Fitzpatrick trend.

-Bégin is actually a very important player to his team...unlike Fitzgerald
-Bégin is popular unlike Fitzgerald
-If he made the team...it wouldn't be fun...or inspirational (some people think Rory's journey is interesting)
-Bégin is far from an all-star quality player...

...send Higgins or Johnson instead if you want to push a semi deserving habs player to the allstar game.

My crap is comming from Begin's mouth , in an interview 3-4 weeks ago .

Sad ? not that much , you didn't see the irony ?

puting someone on your ignore list is an easy way to not be confronted with someone that have better arguments than you ...

personnaly , i don't have anybody on a ignore list , because i am here to discuss about hockey . I don't see the point to flush someone just because he doesn't share my point of view , or because he doesn't like a player i like . If you think that your idea about something is better than mine , just convince me ...

Higgins is the one that deserve the most to go there . Saku is also so playing very well since the begining of the season .

Komi , Perezhogin and Jhonson are all playing very good , but are still under the " stars " games .
