Fully healed.

Hall - RNH - Yakupov
Perron - Gagner - Eberle
Prospal - Gordon - Hemsky
Smyth - Acton - Eager
Brown/Smac

That seems like a pretty decent forward group.
How's that for three scoring lines? I wouldn't mind that. Providing that Prospal still has some legs.

A fully healthy lineup and you still manage to have two of Eager/Brown/MacIntyre?

Why would Prospal be in the lineup over Joensuu

I really have nothing against Prospal to be honest. I just don't know that i want him if Hemsky is on this team. If Eakins was open to Prospal in the top 6 and Smyth bottom 6 things would make a bit more sense as well.

Prospal went 4/9 last year in FO. Hemsky went 12/24. He's never played more than 2 full seasons on a single team, and the team that he just led in scoring didn't even want to re-sign him

Can't believe I forgot Jesse. Of course he'd be in the lineup. Probably on the 4th over Eager/Brown

I wonder if anyone is looking for a veteran dman right now?

It would sweet if Ottawa or Isles ended up less than impressed with gryba/reinhart

particularly if the isles wanted to dump nielsen in favor of nelson or strome....Nick Schultz + for Frans Nielsen? I mean Nick has to be better than Carkner, Strait, Hickey etc, no?

I dunno. I tend to think when the actual games start that Arcobello is going to get manhandled. I hope not, but this isn't a league full of nice guys.
I was pretty worried about that to begin the year, but the fact is he's been good. If a guy's accomplished what he has to in order to make the team then he ought to get his shot.

I'd love to get Nielson out of the NYI... but he's on an affordable contract and the guy is a great 2-way C.. I highly doubt the Isles would be looking to move him. I think he's actually one of their most important key players after the obvious ones like Tavares, Moulson etc.

Hickey actually looked solid for them last season and he could end up being a bit of a steal for them. They've had solid luck with the waiver wire with guys like Grabner, Nabokov, Hickey... even Colin McDonald looks likes he's turning out well for them. They seem to be doing well working with projects and getting the most out of them.

I'm very confident i recall him playing center in NY for a full season, 1st line center even.

He was a LW (on the top line) with the Rangers and was a very successful LW with Tampa during his years there. The last time he played Center on a regular basis was with Ottawa back in 2000-2001 or so.

He certainly went through a training camp playing center:

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...d.php?t=683768

Again i'm almost positive i remember him playing center with Gaborik in NY. Maybe it wasn't the full year, but i'm sure it was a good portion.

Hockey news' scouting report:

Sees the ice well and gets the puck to an open man effectively. Usually plays with intensity and doesn't back down from challenges. Can play both wing and center. Produces points quite naturally.

Rangers page lists him as a center:

http://rangers.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8459492

Edit: A year after the HFboards post and this article says he was slated to play as NY's top line center for the 10-11 season.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/ho...ticle-1.187683

Edit2: I should add, thanks for the correction, it does seem he was more of a part time center and not a center for the full season like i thought he may have been. In saying that it shouldn't be an issue for us as we don't need him to play center for long.

Prospal as C... no... but definitely has use as third line LW

Smyth-Hall-Hemsky
Perron-Arcobello-Eberle
Prospal-Gordon-Yakupov
Joensuu-Acton-Brown
Eager MacIntyre

RNH return:

Smyth-Hall-Hemsky
Perron-RNH-Eberle
Prospal-Gordon-Yakupov
Joensuu-Acton-Brown
Eager MacIntyre

Gags return:

Smyth-Hall-Hemsky
Perron-RNH-Eberle
Prospal-Gagner-Yakupov
Joensuu-Gordon-Brown
Eager MacIntyre

Think it could be a good team if old man 94 can hang with 4 and 83 all year... if not you hustle him back to C...

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Perron-Gagner-Yakupov
Prospal-Gordon-Hemsky
Joensuu-Acton-Brown
Smyth MacIntyre

I wouldn't put Prospal, who's a defensive liability, above Gordon. However I would definitely welcome him on the wing.

Prospal - Hall - Hemsky
Perron - Arcobello - Eberle
Joensuu - Gordon - Yakupov
Smyth - Acton - Eager/Brown

That's looks good to me. Smyth gets limited minutes, Hall gets another offensive winger with size, it works out much better than Smyth on the first line.

When fully healthy I would like to see this;

Hall - Gagner - Yakupov
Perron - RNH - Eberle
Smyth - Gordon - Hemsky
Joenusu - Acton - Hamilton
Two of Eager, Brown, Smac

I'd only be down with signing Prospal if he signed for 1 million and was willing to play on the 4th line once we are healthy.

Ya we aren't even into the season yet and already 4 injuries on the roster... Potter, Grebeshkov, RNH, Gagner.

It looks like the streak of bad luck with injuries won't be broken anytime soon.

By the time Prospal actually gets comfortable in the lineup, which will take a few weeks at least since he didn't have a training camp, RNH will be back. At that point, he's not worth bringing into to play bottom 6 minutes and put up minimal defense.

Isles pass. Their front office likes Strait a lot. He got that 3 yr extension, after playing solid 2nd pair mins.

And while Reinhart is making a strong case to stick, Donovan has the inside track based on his last twp AHL seasons and the need to replace M. Streit's offense.

So, all three would have to fall on their face before Snow would trade Frans Neilsen for D.

I should think the Potter and Grebs injuries are being somewhat exaggerated so that Mac T doesn't need to decide their respective fates.
