I could've done better than watching that game. Like, hair-dressing my armpits.

Tonight's lineup didn't give us much to cheer about. The defense was woefully inadequate and the forwards seemed to running into a force field.

My final thoughts :

Bournival is NHL ready or at least very close to it. Considering the situation right now and the fact that Gionta is set to be back, he would benefit to get a lot of playing time in Hamilton more than being an extra forward in Montreal. If he keeps playing the way he did, he will be back very soon in Montreal anyway.

Tinordi needs to stay, especially if Murray can't start the season. However, I don't want him to be the 7th defenseman.

I have never been a Budaj fan...and it has nothing to do with tonight.

I don't like his quickness or his rebound control.

he reminds me of Halak in that he can't track the puck around the crease area very well.

I think Bournival will be the only rookie on this team....Tinordi is very close and will get some call ups this year Better to give him 20+'mins a night in the AHL than 8-10 minutes in the NHL. Patience.

Oh no our AHL defence and backup goalie and prospect forwards didn't win the game!! Price's fault for not forcing Therrien's hand to play every pre-season game. He would've lost it anyway letting 3-10 softies and 2 own goals but he at least should've tried that bum. We were too soff too. More fighters.

Did I cover it all?

These guys on l'AC are hilarious. They're discussing this as if it was the regular season. Seriously it's lame.

And they keep speculating about how Eller has gained 15 pounds, even going as far as saying he looks slow.

Not one has brought up the fact that Eller's line has been mainly used as the #1 line during their games, facing tougher opponents, something everybody agrees they're not ready for.

Let them be used as our 3rd line again once the season start and they'll dominate. Not to mention, why in God's name would they go the extra mile during a preseason game.

Eller's looked pretty bad this pre-season and especially tonight...but, you know...pre-season.

Kriss E has a point too. Also I think it's easy to forget that the Gally-Eller-Gally line is composed of 2 sophomores and a 24 year old. It's a very young, inexperienced line.

They take everygame seriously! By the way, have you played the AC drinking game? Take a drink every time you hear they mention MOEN, especially Bergie, and you will be drunk in 10 minutes.

They haven't done much offensively, but Eller's looked good defensively. Although in my comment I was talking about them saying Eller has looked slow, which he definitely hasn't.

To be fair, who has had a good camp as veterans anyways? They've all been pretty bad to average generally speaking.

That's what pre-season is.

Yeah I haven't noticed a significant difference in his speed, I agree.

True, but it's also fair to say that none of those 3 should be considered "veterans" yet and they should still be trying to impress.

Perhaps, but I think that they're very well aware that their spots are secured. Bournival is not going to make Therrien sit out any of those guys. So it's kind of normal for them to simply not have the foot pressing all the way down on the pedal.
