Occam's razor, the easiest answer is often the right one: each team has their own schedule and plan regarding the rosters for their pre-season games and sometimes good compositions play against weaker ones.

Therrien even said earlier in the pre-season that he doesn't consider the other team's lineup at all when putting together his teams, and I bet that holds true for just about all the coaches in the league.

Absolutely, and they will also tend to ice more NHL calibre lineups at home rather than on the road.

That's if you can get passed all the dead bodies from mass suicide.

Just watch the Sens goon it up and we have noone but Ryan White to answer the bell...

Anybody thinks there will be some retribution of any kind on Moen (and not White)?

Who cares? Leafs had a bunch of turds in their line up to respond to the "goon it up" Sabres and ended up with 13 games worth of suspensions to key players. Not a smart move to try to out-stupid a goony team of goons.

Not really an issue here. But Murray seems to go toward using intimidation as part of his game.

St-Pierre does a legal hit on Corvo.
Neil tries to go after him and White and Moen took care of Neil.
Cleasson involved himself when he saw two Habs after Neil.
I think Moen pushes Neil on the ice but it is not easy to see in this video.
Still don't understand why we got two minutes more and why there was so many misconduct penalties.

Seems that giving a good legal hit will result in intimidation.
Might as well remove body checks and just keep the fights.

This season, we seem to add that it is OK to send goons after the best player of the opposing team.

Secondary altercations get an automatic game misconduct. That's why Moen and Claesson got one each.

Apparently White instigated.

You've got one funny definition of 'legal hit'. He clearly leaves his feet.

Still PREseason. I never get concerned about veterans until the puck actually drops on the season.
