Personally, I feel his size issues and ability to withstand playing is a bit overblown.

Same here, i mean he is better skater than Drouin and slightly taller, yet nobody does bring it up when they talk about him.

I agree.

I understand the game is different in the NHL, but it's not like everyone here is a hulking Sardaukar brute and everyone in SM-Liiga is a gentle teddy bear.

There are big, goonish players in Finland, and TT has been dancing around them since he was 17 years old. He'll be fine.

Agreed. Seems to me that complaints or worryworting over his size are about akin to the prognostications saying that physical play was the key to beating the Hawks last year, even though it wasn't.

Could TT afford to bulk up a bit? Absolutely, but he'll be fine in the NHL with just a few pounds of muscle added. Plenty of star players in the league that are average height, including a certain Conn Smythe winner that we should've traded for Miller a long time ago according to some.

I have the sense that going back to play in Finland is what TT wants to do. From the interview yesterday to a couple other interviews I've seen - I think he thinks he's not ready yet. And that's OK and another season in SM-Liiga will help him gain confidence and will be better in the long run.

well...off the game lst night against PITT --he did a few things well...56% on faceoffs...3 take-aways and came back twice on back checks to bust up Pen rushes ..HOWEVER --he got off ZERO shots...not gonn be any kind of star let alone superstar iin the NHl if you can't get shots off and finish a good percentage of those you do...but to be fair...Kane got off 7 shots and FAILED to finish any and both FAILED on the shootout chaces..so bottom line both failed to impact the game which bottom line was disappointing...ALSO as far as TT's offense,I had hoped to see more creativity in passing plays but the one solo tried to deke the whole team attempt while "exciting" anad a second good skate in and deke butfail on the shot attempt as his stick exploded DOES NOT make up for hi lack of net crashing or lack of setting up nifty scoring chances for his wingers...ALSO: needs to get stronger...either avoided physical play or was inefective/could not push guys off the puck with his body...VERDICT: not ready physically AND Q has to remiond him that to be an NHL top six star YOU GOTTA SHOOT THE PUCK and then finish a nice % of those ..getting ZERO shots off will never cut it.. so go back to Jokerit, come back stronger next year and get some shots off...

If Kane and TT get some serious chemistry going together next year due to their playmaking abilities, Teuvo at $925K for the remaining two years for some immediate decent production will be a steal and a half.

he'll make the team next year. He would look good for some games but he would look lost more times. He is young, really young. He isn't physically mature yet. We just won the Cup, have a good roster as it is without him. We aren't a team that is in the bottom of the standings that has to play the Top3 pick to garner interest and get him this experience

According to this article Blackhawks would have wanted to change the plans regarding Teravainen after his visit. In the end, the clubs decided to go with the original plan and Teravainen returning to Helsinki.

As it was within Blackhawks rights to call Teravainen to play in NHL, I think they tried to get Jokerit to free him from his contract so that they could assign him to AHL in case he wouldn't have been able to stay in the NHL yet. Or it might be the case that there's a clause in the FEL-NHL trade agreement of some kind of trade window when players can be called up so that FEL teams wouldn't have to give up their core players during the season.

Either case, it sounds like Teravainen did impress alot for the two clubs to even discuss the option of him playing in the NHL this season.

TT played his first Finnish Elite League game today. He won most of his faceoffs, losing only twice and played as a first line Center. He looked good, even though he didn't have any points today. Highlight below:

Tyrvainen was the one who received that breakaway pass but yeah, TT did dish these kinda passes quite a few times last season. Like only once someone managed to score from one.

That's because no one on the Jokerit team can score goals.

TT played his second FEL game today. He played as the first line Center again but hadn't any points. The game went to shootout where TT missed his first try but succeeded on his second try and so Jokerit won the game in shootout against Lukko 2 - 1.
