Coyotes looking for top-6 forward

Coyotes are still exploring trade for a top-6 forward.

GM Don Maloney: "It may take a bigger deal, to be honest with you, because nobody is handing out top-tier players.

We haven't found what we need yet. That could change in a hurry, but at least we like our other options.

We don't feel like we’re forcing something into our lineup at all." 'Link'

I wonder what they'd be willing to part with to get what they're looking for?

why did they cut Latendresse if they are looking for a top 2 line forward?

Probably since they want a top 2 line player who isn't injured all the time.

Guess that rules out hemsky as well lol

Who is in position to trade a top 6 forward though, why would anyone do that? Unless they really need a d-man.

I think the Caps would be great partners for the Coyotes. Yotes fans, who are you interested in from the Caps? We have a glaring need at 2LD. Ovechkin, Backstrom, Brouwer and possibly Grabovski are the only forwards I see as untouchable.

I'm sure if Franzen doesn't start to improve he could be on the block. It does go against everything Holand has done since the 04-05 lockout but Franzen at this point has played himself into Babcock's doghouse. I'm not sure what we could get for him because of his contract, though Holland views it as a positive & has said in the past that Franzen isn't like to be moved because of the value it provides to the Wings.

Watch an Avalanche game. We're just that team in desperate need of a solid defenseman.

The Washington Capitals say hello. We have John Erksine and Jack Hillen as our 2LD, and a complete log jam at forward. Evgeni Kuznetsov will be another top 6 forward and he'll be here in the Spring (fingers crossed).

Does Kessel also come with C Kadri and D Rielly + something else?

Cammalleri?

Not sure if the Coyotes would be after a "rental" but if so would prefer some decent puck moving defenseman prospects (cough cough) but any future assets would likely be doable.

I have no idea what Maloney will float as a trade chip since Klesla is out. Morris and Z have NMCs and I would think sign-and-trades of Rundblad, Stone, or Summers will not be likely.

Would rather not start up the Yandle talk for the umpteenth time as well.

[mod]

for one thing, Stastny is an upcoming UFA and not signed for 3 more years. Plus Stastny is primed for a good season between Landeskog and Tanguay, not Jones and Olver

Avs:
Yandle

Yotes:
Stastny
Hunwick

Though as an Avs fan, not 100% ready to give up on Paul regaining star status under Roy. Would like to see more come back to the Avs, but in terms of pure value today, that's the deal that gets it done for me. Yotes would have to take Hunwick, both for the roster spot and the financial end of it.

Avs can either put O'Reilly back at center or move Mac up to the second line and have Mitchell center the third line.

That said, I don't see the Avs trading Stastny until they see more of Mac in action.
