Hans Öberg won 2 WCH, some Swedish Championships ect. A great player, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Though he managed to play 17 seasons in the highest league in Sweden, and only collect 2 penalty minutes!

I saw a recent interview with him, where he said the penalty where a misstake, one player stepped on his stick and fell.

Its pretty remarkable though, 17 seasons, and one penalty!

Ola, if I am not mistaken, I also believe he never collected a penalty in international competitions either. Quite an incredible accomplishment considering the fact he appeared in 9 major international tournaments.

A few facts about Hans:

Hans Andreas "Stöveln" Öberg (born 2 November 1926), spent his entire playing career (1947-1964) with Gävle Godtemplares IK (GGIK), his younger brother was Carl-Göran Öberg, also known as "Lill-Stöveln".

Hans was named Best Swedish player of the year 1956/57, and scored the most goals in Swedish I Division during the 1948/49, 1957/58 and 1958/59 seasons.

He appeared in 7 World Championships and 2 Olympic tournaments (from 1949 WC to 1958 WC), winning gold medals at the 1953 and 1957 WC's, and bronze medals at the 1952 Olympics, 1954 WC and 1958 WC (his final national team appearance). Altogether, he played in 131 national team games for Sweden, including 16 games total at the Olympics, where he scored 5 goals in 9 gp in 1952 and 2 goals in 7 gp in 1956. Wore jersey #8 for the national team.

Would you happen to now any sources for the Swedish players career stats year by year, I only know about Eurohockey.net site and Swehockey.se, but they are often incomplete for older players like Öberg. Any Swedish books will do also.
