well Rangers management should have found him a place to succeed on the NHL roster.. he is a top 2 line player in the AHL but then whenever he would get called up, Rangers play him on the 4th line and then he acts like a dumb goon and takes dumb penalties.. not a smart player at all...

That's why he never stuck. Doesn't mean he wasn't very effective in the AHL though.

Philly just waived him, too. He's not an NHL player.

Timo Seppa, the managing editor of Hockey Prospectus, was at the Wolfpack game last night.

I like Noreau for the Wolfpack blueline. Big guy, accurate hard slapper from the point. Should have had a first assist on first goal IMO.
Quote:
1st line had St. Croix, Nicholls. Solid, but not standout. e.g. St. Croix circled the net nicely, then missed on a short centering pass.
Quote:
Dodero, just mentioned, is a mixed bag for me. Good size, some skills, but took some penalties, had some on-and-off execution.

Nice find. Think we'll see some good development from Noreau, St. Croix and Nicholls. Hope big Sam can stick with the Pack.

Ah. Angelo Esposito. I remember the arguments I had with Pens fans about how he'd be a bust. I got the last laugh on that one for sure. I had no idea how anyone who saw him play could think he had 1) the head for the game or 2) the desire for the game.

Noreau took a shot up high in the face/head area tonight, left the game, hope he's OK.

Otherwise not to much to comment on after tonight's game. Lineup full of ECHL or otherwise bound players.

Also Sam Klassen is with the team, I remember not being sure about that. Glad to see him back.

Klassen is on a tryout right now. It surprises me that he wasn't able to land an AHL deal anywhere yet. He's certainly a decent AHL player.

They never keep any of the ECHL players anyways, even if 1 or 2 light it up and show they should be given a shot at the AHL level, so why bother...

Edit: Guess I'm not alone on that thought http://hfnyrangers.com/?p=81

Whereas, i made a cynical comparison between Jessiman anf Esposito, really no reason to gloat over the misfortune of a kid in his early 20s whose dream is slipping away from him. Karma.

Hartford now... before final cuts...

After the cuts in NYR org – this is what remains to be sliced up in Hartford. After Hagelin and Cally return to NYR and subsequent new addition(s) to the AHL squad – then this should be a very good, young and talented - or at least deep - team. Maybe lacking the necessary AHL experienced guys though

Goal (2): Jason Missiaen, Cam Talbot

Defense (9): Connor Allen, Stu Bickel , Charlie Dodero, Tommy Hughes, Aaron Johnson, Sam Klassen, Dylan McIlrath, Samuel Noreau, Danny Syvret

Forwards (16): Ryan Bourque, Andrew Carroll, Brodie Dupont, Micheal Haley, Marek Hrivik, Kyle Jean, Oscar Lindberg, Michael Kantor, Chris Kreider, Danny Kristo, Brandon Mashinter, Josh Nicholls, Darroll Powe, Michael St. Croix, Jason Wilson, Andrew Yogan

Pack looks to be very good this year. The forwards are tremendous and the goaltending should also be very good. Let's see how the blue line shakes up, but it should be better than last year.

C: Lindberg, Powe, St. Croix, Jean
LW: Hrivik, Kreider, Yogan, Mash, Bourque
RW: Kristo, Haley, Kantor, Nicholls

If Pyatt gets sent down when Hagelin returns, one of the good AHL players will need to sit.

Pyatt has some value, I think he will be either traded or waived and claimed.
