Can this rearguard become our Rafalski, played in Scandinavia untill his mid-twenties, not big but highly skilled, smart in positioning himself to make up for lack of size in the defence zone. Quinn says he's better qualified to play in the NHL than the AHL, I have seen over the years in many sports where the player has more success at the top level, hopefully Hedin will be one of those players. Can his overall skill level and intellegence on the ice let him excell at this level like Rafalski.
And I think he could, from what I saw last night he has good skills he seemed a bit uncomrtable with the puck, but was playing smart the whole game. Give him a few games to get adjusted then shove Jackman's but out and onto the curb.
1 game , 1 assist and he's the next LIDSTROM he might not even be here by the end of the season let alone next rafalski , the leafs will pick up another 1 or 2 d-man by trade deadline so pierre orr will not be still with the team
Then again, it is only one game, and it could go either way.
Maybe he burns and crashes after the next game.
Maybe Quinn was right and he really belongs in the NHL games and makes Kaberle expendable.
I'd say chances are very good it is somewhere between. He has had success at the highest level outside the NHL, so it isn't like he's a Chartier or Kelly.
