Which team is giving Cano what the Yankees offered Cano? The Yankees should sit tight and the market play out. Unless the Dodgers want to add another $25M to their payroll, there isn't another team prepared to pay big dollars. The Angels got burned with Albert and Hamilton. They have nothing to show for those guys. Hank gave AROD $275M and Hal regrets it.

Yeah. If the Mets are going to make any kind of splash this offseason, it will be something like Shin-Soo Choo.

Going to see Mariano's last home game tonight. I expect him to pitch regardless of the score, and will be upset if he doesn't.

They have money to spend. But I don't want it to be on Choo.

Can pretty much guarantee that's not going to happen. Not at all an Alderson style move.

I'm going to miss Mariano more than any other players on my teams that have retired. I'm glad I got to witness his great career from beginning to end.

And so the David Robertson era begins...

Orioles and Nationals are probably longshots. Dodgers scare me. Angels wont be a player (Pujols, Hamilton) and Detroit cant afford Cano.

Or Ellsbury. He'd be a good get for Mets depending on the contract. Bolsters the weak outfield and gives them a lead off guy they lack.

Maybe Nationals. They could be desperate to add another bat to improve that offense. Then again they'll be paying Strasburg and Harper soon. Zimmermann too.

Realistically it'll only be Dodgers Cubs and Yankees bidding on him.

Cubs with Epstein might try and make a big splash to regain relevance. Girardi leaving rumblings are beginning too.

Washington doesn't make much sense. Cano would benefit from a hitters park.

Injury risk. Fits Mets M.O.

I'm aware. It's a shame. He needs hitting. This guy could be a top 10 hitter in MLB.

Then again, Alderson was responsible for players like Canseco, McGuire, and Giambi... You never know. He likes corner spots filled by pure power.

He'd also play for a very good ball club especially if they retain both Harper and Strasburg. That'd be more tempting than going to a hitters park.

Dodger Stadium is pitchers park as much as Nationals Park.

I'm not blaming the injuries. The Yankees were one game out of a WC spot with about 20 games left, and they collapsed.

I am going to be very happy when all these fossils are gone. Watching the YES network is excruciating. I think Josef Goebbels is the program director. Not a peep about how all these "big bats" have vanished when it mattered most.

The starting pitching stunk in September. The bullpen was worse.

This was the worst Yankees team since 1991. Hands down. At least you saw positive signs with the 1992 and 1993 teams.

I cried like a baby girl pretty much the entire 8th and top of 9th...haven't done so since the Richter Jersey retirement ceremony.

Mariano Rivera was the most incredible thing in sports since Ruth IMO...and then to have him on our side, to be able to have otherwise countless boring nights saved simply by watching him come out from the pen.

There was that thing where everyone and the batter knew the pitch was going to that spot, THE spot, just inside the top left corner. Didn't matter if contact was made it either broke the bat, went foul, or ended a 80+ year curse.

The Yankees I grew up with are gone

I really dislike the whole idea of the Mo retirement tour. I didn't like the Chipper tour either, and I wouldn't like a David Wright tour. I don't think organizations should have to bow down to other franchises great players- the reaction to the BoSox gift really bothered me because people were acting like they did something wrong. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm a relatively new fan of the sport (I guess starting in 09?) so I don't know how common stuff like this is but i'm just not a fan.

That being said, that moment last night was absolutely beautiful.

I said that myself. I thought the constant gifts at every ballpark he went to was over the top but what the Yankees did this week with Mo day on Sunday and the moment last night was really well done.

who said those franchises had to do that? the franchises chose to give him gifts, just like he chose to give back to those teams employees and sit and meet with them.

and chipper jones and david wright are not even close to being in the same caliber of a player as mariano is. not even close.
