I'm pleasantly surprised at Briere still having some offensive touch this pre-season. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets more points than Desharnais as he seems to like the same offensive areas of the ice to set up plays. That line will be 2 midgets trying to find Pacioretty for goals. I prefer to see Briere with Eller/Galchenyuk and move Gallagher back with Desharnais-Pacioretty. In a perfect world, you avoid having 2+ midgets on one line but that's impossible on this team. Something like:

Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Briere
Prust - Bournival - White/Parros/Moen

I know they all remain at this point, but will it be one too many for the regular season limit?

Depends on how many d-men are healthy to start the season.

But if DD and AE are on the IR... There is in fact 7 D-Men. That's factoring Murray in.

So, yeah, they could ALL be in Montreal.

14 + 7 + 2.

Taking for granted that DD is waived/sent down.

There could be problems at Emelin's return, but chances are, there's probably somebody getting injured.

We have a good problem on our hands. I hope after 10 games or so, we can be confident in a trade if the right one comes along.

Good game....team looked good overall. Most impressed by Beaulieu....a cpl minor mistakes but a strong overall game.

Skates like Markov? Not that Markov ever was a bad skater but NB is on another level skating wise. He gives Subban or Pacioretty a run for their money.

Bournival played excellent too he deserves his spot.

Eller line showed some nice stuff too.

Gionta looked pretty good.

Price was sharp.

Bring on the Leafs.

Loved Briere, Eller and Galchenyuk... This could be the start of something great for this year. I love Gallagher but Briere brings a ton of experience that can change a lot of things.

Walrus spit his gum out on the ice last night on home ice also. It's what he does I guess. Not specific to the Bell Centre.

And then have stupid hf posters still hate on the guy? lol, you guys are incredible...so hypocrite. Moen played well tonight and fought (which is what everyone wants him to do). Enough with the btching. Briere played an outstanding game, a lot of great passes outthere. The kid line played pretty good too.

I hope that Bournival makes the team for Tuesday. I'd scratch White, he's been the worst player outthere AINEC.

Makes you wonder if his girlfriend/wife had an affair with a Zamboni driver.

Why the hate on White?

80% FO wins tonight and a goal last night. He removed Neil from the game last night as well.

What more do you want from a 4th line Center?

People said the same thing about Weber , Dias is great let's get rid of Weber. Now Diaz sucks and your shiny new player is performing well. When will we see the "get rid of Nygren it's time for player x" threads , notice a pattern ?

Beats me. Even though I've been fine with Moen this preseason, I hope White wins out the last spot.

Either way we look pretty damn solid throughout the whole line up.

So is Murray going to play against the Leafs?

he wont score 35 goals, but gimmie 20 g and 45 assists bud, and we are TIGHT

My thoughts on Diaz never really changed... even when he had an appreciation thread because of his hot streak.

Wow... all kinds of love for a non-physical, defensive liability....
Great- he puts up decent points, and went on a hot streak along with Markov to begin the season- but it ends there. He's not a dominant presence on the back end, and he's costing us goals. A good 5-6... hopefully we can hype him into something worthwhile trade-wise when our promising prospects are ready.

Yep, he sure looked impressive when he forgot Moulson in the slot, and looked like a bum on the OT goal. His stickplay and limited physicality will only get him so far. He looks great with limited ice-time, gets exposed over 20+ minutes...
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...&postcount=109

I can tell I was in a bad mood that day because I was a little blunt... but it sort of sums up my thoughts about Diaz. With Tinordi, Beaulieu and Pateryn coming into the picture- his time is almost up.

My guess is that peoples are expecting him to be the next Prust....calm down your expectations

Also some ''experts'' have judged him on the pictures where you can see him showing chest and some thinks he's not enough in shape.

Well I find Diaz to be reliable defensively and good to move the puck, so I guess it's a matter of perspective.

Really? A preseason game where our whole lineup is full of ahl players proves that anderson is not as good as last year? You do know that a goalies play can also rest on how your defense plays. Our defense was all ahl players minus cowen. This games proves nothing on whether anderson is as good as he was last year or not.

You should also not use the preseason as evidence on how veteran players are going to play being that they are not fighting for a spot as all the rookies are.

I hate the Sens and have for years before these last playoffs but come on, Anderson's lasts season was not a fluke. He's a good goalie.

The Sens are probably the team to beat in our division this year and I hate it so much. I think our division is going to be really tough.
