preseason doesn't matter if you win

but if you can't win a single damn game in regulation for the entire preseason even when you dress regulars against mainly AHL lineups???

that matters... this team has looked awful so far

this system with these defensemen just doesn't make me optimistic

We have two old puck movers who are getting slower every game, a young puck mover who hasn't proven anything and a bunch of "throw it off the glass" guys. Throw in Coburn - no idea what he is. Big guy, great skater, never buries anybody and can't do anything with the puck. I'm concerned.

Every game so far has been a couple regulars and mainly AHLers/juniors for both teams, not just the Flyers. It's not like they're dressing all their starters against AHLers and getting beat. The only exception was the first game against NJ where both teams had their real lineups and that was the first game the Flyers had played together in months. Not to mention they have new players and lines that will take a bit on time to get used to each other. I really don't see why so many people are getting so worked up over nothing. If this continues into the regular season then go ahead and worry, but not now, it's way to early for worrying.

I want to see what Cousins can do with good linemates. In every preseason game he's played he's been one of the better Flyers (I guess that's not saying much). He seems to have good poise with the puck and real good hands. It might be jumping the gun, but I wouldn't mind if he was given a look to start the season. Or they could go with Laughton.

Hartnell/Read - Giroux - Voracek
Schenn - Lecavalier - Simmonds
Cousins - Couturier - Read/Hartnell
Rinaldo - Hall - Talbot

Something like that.

The whole "let's wait till trouble actually happens to be worried about potential trouble" mentality is what has cost the Flyers Cups and playoff runs in the recent past.

If you're thinking people are upset simply over a couple preseason losses to the Devs and nothing more then that then you're either out of touch with reality or kidding yourself.

both games i went to i thought the defense looked pretty good and offensively we blew. just lame wristers from the circles makin goalies look way better than they should. blocked shots, and cycling behind the net was worthless because it leads to a turnover every single time. my problem with this team is the fact that its been blown up and pieced back together so many times over the last 3 years. you can't build a winning team by constantly changing your mind and the one thing that should be changed is still here.

The team was blown up exactly once in the last three years. And trading two players hardly constitutes as blowing it up entirely.

I'm probably going to miss this one, but more people than just Cousins and Mason/Emery showing up would be nice

I'll try to watch this in my nut house the best I can, but I guess there will be no promises. I think somebody said the "A" squad will be in, so I guess whoever is in that 3W role and 4C role might be in the driver seat for the start of the year.

Raffl & Lauridson sent to AHL.

So that's that for now.

Laughton still hanging around.

There's a big difference between struggling in the preseason and struggling in (a 48 game) regular season.
