To Edm
Joe colborne

To Tor
3rd round pick

I saw this in the tor wants to trade colborne tread and just thought seen as gagner and hopkins are out joe would be a viable replacment until they get back then go from there. What do you think?

Or Rielly for????, Oilers feel a puck moving defenseman like Paul Coffey can put them over the top.

Top-end defensive prospect is the last thing we need as we already have J. Schultz, Klefbom and Nurse.

On-topic I feel 3rd rounder is a little bit too much for Colborne. I'd do 5th for him.

Colborne is worth more than a 3rd to Toronto with our need for cheap contracts.

Toronto: Nick Schultz

Edmonton: Colborne, Liles

Toronto gets a player to bury that is on his last year of his contract and is 375k cheaper than Liles (1.275m in cap savings over Liles after burying Schultz). Edmonton gets an upgrade on D and a center who is NHL ready now to fill in while Edmonton has injuries, who is also a good depth C for the future. All the while helping both teams stay under the cap.

Toronto's alternative is to run a 22 man roster and lose Holzer on waivers and send down Ashton & Smith in order to keep Colborne and Liles under cap.

EDIT: Don't know who would fill in for McLaren for the first couple games if he isn't ready.

I don't even know if JC is worth a third at this point, glad the B's traded him while he still had some value.

A 4th/5th would be more realistic.

Liles is a non-starter for Edmonton. N. Schultz's contract is over this year and the Oilers will need the caproom for the Nugent-Hopkins and J. Schultz extensions, plus Petry's new contract.

Edmonton offers Dallas' 2016 7th round pick. Arcobello is a better player then Colbourn. People are way to obsessed with his size.

I'm not 100% on this but i'm pretty sure the Oilers are at the maximum number of contracts they can take, that being said... the only way this deal gets done is if it's contract to contract.

I think thats why they got another team so they can send other contracts to that other team and from what I heard some of those contracts that they signed over the summer where for the purpose of going to the minors

A Oilers fan proposed Hamilton and a 5th for Colborne.

That's a deal I'd do.

Not really much of a point. Trade a guy not good enough to make the team that we'd lose on waivers for another one.

Yeah no way I would give a third for Colborne, its not like he would walk right in and make the team.

the city...............

Why has Colburne's value dropped so much so quickly. Some leaf posters were trying to get a first for him at the draft

Because if nobody gives them anything for him, he's going to hit the waiver wire.

That said, for either Omark or Ryan Jones, I'd consider a deal. Not for picks or anything that we want though. You can't expect to send your cast offs and get a piece that has much value.

Why would he hit the waiver wire? He is our cheapest contract beside Smith and we have McLaren and Clarkson out to start the season...

Because he isn't good enough to make your team.

But he's good enough to fill in for RNH and Ganger? Why does this thread even exist?

Colbourn has to clear waivers to get sent down. And as it appears, he has no business in NHL. Why give up a 3rd only to put up on waivers after. No team in their right mind would give anything of value for him

Either Curtis Hamilton or 7th

Because Edmonton has no Centers.

Worst they play him for a month and he blows, trade him for a 7th and say "whatever"

Best chance, he gets top 6 minutes, shows he can battle and sticks with the team when RNH and Gagner return.
