No, he just scored an NHL-preseason goal on NHL-preseason ice against an NHL-preseason defender and NHL-preseason goaltender in an NHL-preseason game.

I remember when Pääjärvi scored a hat trick against Tampa

That was a nice goal. Why are so many people hell bent on refusing to give the kid a pat on the back? "oh hes not good defensively". Yeah because they drafted him to be jere lehtinen right :

The guy is an offensive dynamo. Let him be that and let Dallas be excited for him. Sheesh. It's like kids breaking other kids' toys because they cant have them.

I'm sure he will become a good player but honestly I don't care. I don't know him so why would I? I'm just saying that I've seen players do great in preseason and get super high expectations and not lived up to them before.

If I was Dallas, I would be very careful about keeping him on the team after 9 games. Ruff should know this from Grigorenko, but the Sabres royally **** up with keeping Grigs on the team. It has been just been a major bump in his development.

They are all likely butt hurt fans of the teams who passed on him at the draft.

Notice the NHL, NHL, NHL and NHL in your comment? O right it was an NHL game.

The only reason it is being posted here is because there are so many nay-sayers who said this move will never work. He will not be effective in the NHL because he can't do this in the league. Simply this GIF is being posted to show otherwise.

I think we all understand that the pre-season doesn't mean much.. but he certainly can pull off his signature move on NHL ice, in and NHL game, versus an NHL opponent.

Sceviour also just recently scored a hat trick for Dallas, but we are not claiming he's top 6 material. He's a third liner at best.

Nichushkin was projected to be drafted anywhere between 3-15, he has the potential to be an elite all-star forward. Anyone denying this does not follow Dallas' prospects.

It looks like Nuke is going to start on the 3rd line. From all accounts Ruff/Nill are willing to work through his growing pains, and expect him to tire out or struggle later in the season. So by all accounts, they're prepared and expecting the situation, and taking steps to avoid what happened with Grig.

I don't think Oilers fans are ******** over Nuke... Nurse is incredible. We've never had a D prospect like him. We're ******** over Monahan though... he's who I'd want out of the three

Reminds me of Rick Nash. Nichushkin is one of my favorite prospects.

dude he could pull that move in practice and youd say he pulled it off against an nhl goalie, on nhl ice against an nhl defender. most nhl vets arent playing at 100% in the preseason and there is a huge difference whethor you choose to be delusional or not. you can go nuts when he actually does it in a real nhl game, but until then stop argueing the semantics of what an 'nhl game' means. Get over it and stop being a homer

Hunwick was playing at 100% because he's a depth defenseman who could realistically lose his roster spot. The problem is he's terrible, even at 100%. Fortunately for Nikachu, there are plenty of Hunwicks in the NHL.
