Yeah, I think they just sent some guys out, it wasn't official like it was before Austin folded.

Article About Iowa Hockey & Your Iowa Wild

Here's an article taking a closer look at the growth of hockey in Iowa. Where it's going, where it's been, etc. Interviews include Josh Fisher of the Iowa Wild and Scott Clemmensen of the Florida Panthers (the only Iowa native in the NHL).

http://pantherparkway.com/2013/08/30...ockey-in-iowa/

I personally have been visiting family in Iowa for over 20 years and I can say that even just 10 years ago I never heard a peep about it and now suddenly all of my family there has a favorite NHL team and so on. Pretty interesting to see a sport starting to grow in a place like that.

Also, how many of you Minny natives plan on making the drive to Des Moines to catch the AHL?

This doesn't need its own thread. Should be moved to AHL thread.

I rather see some of our specs be sent to Orlando or Quad City instead of getting very little ice time in Iowa

That Wells Fargo arena in Des Moines really does look sweet. Would love to have a reason to get down there for a Wild game. The home opener I'm sure will be sweet.

He's a good player, but only when he's playing with Peatley.

Wow, that is an awesome arena. Just like us though, it needs a bigger scoreboard.

Wells Fargo arena > half of NHL arenas.

Kessel signs with Toronto. Kessel's brother released shortly after. Coincidence? I think not!

That would be almost all of their potential Wild players in one line. I sure hope they'd get at least a goal a game.

Yeah. Shades of the Zucker - Granlund - Coyle line last year.

How come you have your line 1 over that second line?

No specific reason. Just think they'd want a line like that to play a lot as well, veteran AHL guys.

Keep in mind that the lines will most likely be changed every game.

There'll be some experiments for the first few games, that's for sure.

AHL Live looks pretty good this year. Better quality I'd say.

Plus, there's an app.
