Oilers lose 4-0

It's pretty hard to analyze this game because cameraman obviously saw camera for the first time in his life but hey, let's give it a shot.

Hamilton was ok in the third period. Joensuu wasn't bad. Can't think of a third guy who didn't have a horrible game. Oh well, maybe they wanted to avoid injuries.

Oh, that went well too.

Boobs.

We're ****ed.

Lack of center depth (thanx for not fixing this over the summer MacT) is going to ruin our season in the first month...(amongst other things, like Dubnyk's token bad goal and giving up when down).

It's these type of posts I can't wait to see throughout the season after every loss.

I predict a 3-7-1 start.

I'm either right and I can be smug, or I'm wrong and things are better than I hope!

Win win!

I'm a pessimistic person.
Being an Oilers fan my whole life (as someone too young to appreciate the glory years), i've not had much to celebrate.

I was worried about things well before tonight...this game just confirmed all those concerns.

Here comes the pessimism in the last of a long boring preseason where players are trying not to get hurt.

A meaningless game for even the bottom players.

When they're 2-8-0 I'm going to be gloating in your overly optimistic face.

Name any team that had 6 good centermen. Any team in the league would be screwed losing their top two centers.

And on dubnyk, he was the least of our problems. Yeah the first one wasn't great but as a goalie when your entire team isn't giving a **** and barely producing any offence won't even matter. Dubnyk was left out to dry this game so he clearly stopped caring too.

Dubnyk had a bad 1st goal, but the team never responded. I put the blame on the team in front of him.

He had a bad goal then an amazing save sequence that you know, usually wakes teams up. They still kept sleeping

We are going to be outshot, outscored, and outworked a lot this season.

But, hey, everything is going to be alright.

I think what made me laugh out loud tonight was this tweet:

Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers 4h
Attention #Oilers fans at #NHLShowcase in OKC! Guess the first #Oilers goal-scorer (include your seat) and you could win a signed jersey!

So no one scored. Does that mean everyone wins or everyone loses

Meaningless or not, sure looked familiar from several games over the last few seasons, doesn't it?

What the hell is the matter with this team? No effort whatsoever, even if it's a pre-season game, it still should be better than this.
