Hall and Gervais waived, per Lavoie. Don't like Hall being waived. He's a good face-off and PK guy.

Laughton will be our 4th line center. Not too bad. With both of them waived, we would clear $1,425,000 if my simple math is correct.

Hope there's something in the works. Been saying for months, don't want Laughton playing 4th line minutes.

Hall on waivers doesn't surprise me. Who needs a useful 4th line utility player who is cap-friendly, since the Flyers never do. However, it's a good time to get guys through waivers.

Holmgren happens.

We have just cleared 1.425 mil in cap space. According to Capgeek we are 1.441 over. So...yeah. Something else has to happen.

Who is exactly going to take up the last roster spot for the forwards with Hall waived?

lol Hall was our best player throughout the pre-season so we waive him to make space, and not Mez

I still think Mez will be gone in the next couple days, maybe getting something in return like Mitchell pushing Rosehill to 13th forward again. Then they'll sign Gill as the 7th and Gus will be 6th IMO.

Honestly I don't see what Gill brings to the table but I'd be OK with that line-up.

Perhaps Mez is getting moved for a 4th liner and room had to be made.

I forget do re-entry waivers still exist? They don't right? If not then if Hall makes it through then the team can bring him back without risk once Pronger is on LTIR. However, as it stands the team already has 13 forwards with Rosehill and Vanvelde.

edit- Never mind Vandevelde only has an ahl contract so I guess he was just up for the pre-season?

He isn't on an NHL contract. He was assigned to ADK earlier today so they are at 12 forwards. I think Mez is moved and a 3rd/4th line forward comes back.

VandeVelde was sent to the Phantoms (he also doesn't have an NHL contract), but no, re-entry waivers do not exist anymore.

Would be hilarious if it's a big trade going down. Not one media source has any clue of what is going on, which usually means Flyers are up to something.

Apparently John Mitchell re-tweeted a story about Homer and how the Flyers get under the cap which speculates Mitchell coming back to Philly in a deal for Mez.
