He isn't on an NHL contract. He was assigned to ADK earlier today so they are at 12 forwards. I think Mez is moved and a 3rd/4th line forward comes back.

Ah, okay. If Mez is being moved now though, what was the point of moving Hall and Gervais? Moving Mezsaros provides about 2.5 in cap space provided no one is coming back. Was it just as a precaution in case the Mez deal falls through?
Apparently John Mitchell re-tweeted a story about Homer and how the Flyers get under the cap which speculates Mitchell coming back to Philly in a deal for Mez.
Tweet is no longer up, maybe he was told to delete it. Anyway, I don't think the article mentioned him by name, it is was just about the Flyers moving a d-man which makes the situation more curious. Maybe he's aware of some interest from the Flyers side.
Any GM would be out of their mind to offer something of any sort of value for mez.
Not true. Moderate risk (just money as most teams aren't that close to the cap) and moderate reward. It's not gonna be anything significant but value is a relative term. A 3rd/4th NHL caliber grinder is what management seems to be looking for. I'd think a team would be willing to make a deal around something like that.
