Nick Offerman/Ron Swanson did an AMA on Reddit today. I think it would be better if Knope or Ansari were doing this as it fits better with them but anyways:

I strongly disagree. Though it's usually not as subtle as Community or Arrested Development can be, they don't explain their jokes unless you are referring to the video interview cuts which usually add to the comedy rather than explaining it.

A good example of a show explaining jokes is Modern Family during their interview cuts which should really be removed from the show and usually don't add much but that's not the case in Parks & Rec.

The second half of that joke shouldn't be there...

Also the show has a habit of panning to someone smiling or laughing after a punch line. It's just a visual form of a laugh track, it's just as stupid.
Not everyone is as comedically skilled as you or I, realize why they have to do it to keep people laughing, and just enjoy the show, it's easily the funniest show on network tv.

Solid episode, although I felt the length reduced the overall quality.

Great episode. Loved the stuff with Ron and Andy and Ben. Loved Ron's bits about London versus America, especially when he talked about Big Ben.

Maybe you should write for the show, Sinbad.

Kristen Bell is gonna be on the show on Thursday! She's also gonna play someone from Eagleton so it'll be an Eagleton episode.

Oooo, I like her.

I like Eagleton v. Pawnee episodes, so this should be good.

Also "Ron tries to get off the grid"

Love this show. Kristen Bell is soooooo adorable even with that hair+make-up, I wish she was on sitcoms and the Craig Ferguson show more often. I wonder how long this storyline with Eagleton is gonna drag out though.

I assumed that the reason Ann Perkins would move away from Pawnee would be more dramatic than a gut feeling but anyways.

Something I don't get and I'm just nitpicking and this has nothing to do with the show itself but how did April get into a vet school so easily. They get paid quite a bit and are hard to get into, there are only five in all of Canada and only one in Guelph in all of Ontario so it's harder to get into one of those than in a medical school here. Surely it can't be that easy in the US. At least when Pam from The Office got into a school, it was some art design school.

It's not that easy, at all. But I think Ann pulled some strings for her last season, so that should explain that. A friend of mine, a really smart friend, good grades, barely got into a Vet school in the US, and was heavily considering overseas to get his schooling done.

This was the weakest episode in a while IMO.

^ I disagree, still my favourite episode of any sitcom this week or second favourite episode, lol at the original phone.

Didn't have the biggest laughs I'll admit though, I had to pause the video to stop laughing when Country Mac joined the karate fight and started a karate riot in the Always Sunny episode this week.

Loved the season premiere. So much awesomeness and so much heart, esp. at the end.

A poor letdown for Leslie, but a good episode for everyone else.

Good accountant, bad accountant was funny.

Larry Gingirch (or whatever they were calling him) was great, and him postponing his trip with Gale was just way too funny.

The Pawnee-Eagleton pairings were well done. As was actually finding out people's roles. Have they ever referenced that before? Because I had no idea Tom's job was scheduling or that Donna was the office manager.

Not that I remember.

But now they've introduced the new characters who could stay long term since Ann and Chris will be gone after this season.

Yet another great episode. I laughed when Craig snapped at Tom "who even ARE you?!"

Craig becoming a regular won't be good for the show. Frankly, introducing these new cast members and phasing older ones out reminds me of what The Office did its final season.

Not a good sign.

Is Craig the only new character sticking around?
