You think Joe is going to be a hardass on the youngsters? Throw their plates in the garbage and tell them how a Howler Monkey could create a better dish... LOL!

Sorry, just watched the finale. Really glad Luca won, he seemed like the nicest person and was always willing to help out...even when it could have helped get him eliminated. Also thought he was the most hilarious contestant in Masterchef/Hell's Kitchen history.

Already posted an article that said Joe wouldn't show any mercy towards youngsters either

Just watched it the other day and I'm glad it wasn't just me that felt this way. The finale was strange...it felt underwhelming and rushed. There were mystery box challenges earlier in the season that felt like they had more at stake than the finale. Maybe, like you said, they did have to cut it down.

Although on the other hand, part of me was glad it wasn't dragged out to a 2 hour finale the way everything is these days.

Anyway I'm happy Luca won, I really thought Natasha would win, even right up until the end. Both were great chefs.

No interest in Masterchef Kids or whatever, but I'll probably give the Canadian version a go. As long as that Mark guy from Top Chef Canada isn't on it.

So, who watched MC Juniors? Thoughts?

Those kids can certainly cook! I'm wondering if they received any pre-show training. Making homemade pasta? I wouldn't even know where to begin!

I watched. Better than I thought. We'll see next week when we get the real comps.

These kids are the cream of the crop. It seems as though there was a much higher standard taken in picking these kids vs the adult show. I think that's why we didn't have the competition to get in like with the Adult show. It would be like taking some of the really top adult chef's around the country and having them compete.

The first few minutes...all these kids walk in and I was like "How did they get past auditions..."

They just came out of nowhere with parents just cheering in balcony...then they start the whole group stage and I was sold. Kind of cool. No one got a negative review though, Joe said he would be the same, but you could clearly tell he was toning down his usual heel schtick.

Like the original MC series, it's always sad to see people working hard and failing to get past the round. It seemed no one had a really bad dish, or if they did, the judges were lenient.

MC jr is why I hate Hell's Kitchen.

You can find an 11 yr old that can cook a sea bass perfectly.

But on Hell's Kitchen they can't even make scallops consistantly

This version is great... and it's much less interesting without bashing of each other going on constantly. These kids are talented

LOL! Girlfriend was a bit intense wasn't she? I see her as Student Council President someday, like Reese Witherspoon in Election.

Yeah, kinda makes you wonder what sort of qualifications you really need to be on Hell's Kitchen. I mean if these kids can make Beef Wellington while Hell's Kitchen contestants can screw up scallops, pizza and dressing a salad... What the fedge is going on?

Master Chef is head and shoulders above Hell's Kitchen, obviously, but I love the constant scallop screwups on that show.

It's always Ramsay yelling at someone about screwing up the scallops, then a little later:

"Who cooked the scallops?!?!

...They're cooked beautifully!"

That sucks about Josh. His bipolar disorder never came up in the show. He was simply "the basketball player that wanted to be a chef".

Wonder if things could have worked out differently if the judges made the (IMO) right decision and picked him over Christine.
