Anyway, let's forget this one.....and even though it wasn't his fault, Niinimaa was back in the lineup and we lose....I prefer thinking it's his fault than any of our regulars....

Odd game. I thought we deserved better. A shame to waste such good efforts from Kovy and Koivu like that. I was worried after the first because we were only up by a goal, and damn it anyway if it didn't come back to bite us in the ***.

I hate it when the Habs lose to inferior, and well really sucky teams like the Flyers.

Abby was great tonight on the first stops, but thereafter he was just flopping around. Not good, not good at all.

I agree. The result sucks but the Habs should have won the game. This is what happens when your backup goalie plays. I guarantee a victory on Tuesday with Huet.

They played down to the level of the Flyers, not a good game at all.

Well I guess if anything this loss puts away any doubt left as to who our starter will be going forward the rest of year.

Koivu played great. Lats was pretty good. Ryder is taking a lot of flak, and yes he is one dimensional. But his dimension is goalscoring. If he's not doing that, he's not all that useful, but he does have a nose for the net.

Second line was great. Pleks is working well with those two. Sammy and Kovy were crossing and cylcing and all three of them had good games.

The knee on Pitknanen was really unfortunate. I hate to see that kind of stuff and the fact that he didn't get more for it is disapointing (NHL doesn't take in on knee seriously) but good for us. (we weren't down for 5 mins.) Murray had a better game. That's two in a row where he's been looking solid. All he needs to do is be agressive and skate hard and he'll have a place on that line.

Disapointing 2nd period though. It really is a shame we couldn't get 2 or 3 goals in the 1st. Based on our play you would have thought we could have gotten more, but what can you do.

Awards:
To echo a sentiment somebody voiced before the game, I'm sick of losing to teams we should be beating. Chicago, Florida, and now Philly. Other thoughts:

The second line played amazing, but Plekanec has no finish. He's great at getting his nose dirty, fighting for pucks, and making smart passes but he has no goal-scoring ability...which isn't good for a supposed second-line center.

Ryder's performance the past couple of games has been downright embarassing, making terrible decisions when under the slightest bit of pressure.

Bouillon was by far our worst D-man tonight and the two knee-on-knees (Bouillon and Begin) were shameful.

Aebischer was good at best, but still not making the game-saving stops that a number one goalie has to make.

I guess the only consolation is that it was a back-to-back game that we had to travel for and we still put up a decent fight.

Well....I was hoping to have abby till the trade deadline but im ready to deal him now and promote Danis to backup Huet.

I know i know, im not overreacting. Abby is UFA at the end of the yr. We traded a #1 goalie for him so we need to get some value for him since he is really not needed as much as a top center. So trade abby and niinimma seperately or together and whatever else neccessary(pics maybe ryder) ppl we have lots of(wingers). We need another top center so pleks can go and excel at the 4th line. We need someone to center Kovalev and samsonov. Pleks is ok but not a top center. maye in time but not this yr.

we need to have better 2nd periods and we need to ride huet till he gets tired. We need Huet our #1 in the nets....if other goalies can do it Huet can too.

the bottom line is that the flyers capitalized on their chances and the habs simply did not. I know that sounds really simple but thats what it really came down to.

This game could have been over by the 1st period. The habs were just flying. But the flyers weathered the storm and then took advantage of the habs in another poor 2nd period.

Huet has done this to other teams... now the habs got taste of it themselves.

Abby was average at best, Bouillon was bad.... but the team in general played well.

I think he's becoming too distracted by Hatcher's play:

I don't remember the other players name...but I remember that game like it was yesterday...I would say that the refs lose control of that game, Perezhogin was dominating and harrassed all game long with dubious checks and threatfull stickhandling....something had to give!

The solution is simple

Play Huet

What ever happened to the great GOALIE like Plante, Worsley, Vachon, Dryden, or Roy. Where does Carbo get this all goalies are equal from, they aren't.
