Tristan Jarry and Matt Murray. Neither are even close to NHL ready. No one in the minors NHL calibre.

I would have thought Bryz would have ended up in Calgary. They need a goalie and there is the Anaheim connection of Burke/Bryz.

Bryzgalov isn't that bad. His contract made him look so much worse than he is. Classic example of signing a big contract and not living up to expectations. It happens all the time. It doesn't mean the player is particularly bad, just not worth what he was being paid. He was traded for and re-signed to that extension and it didn't work out.

He'd be a good backup again in the NHL. As of now, Pittsburgh's going into the season with Zatkoff backing up Fleury, so having interest in Bryzgalov, or even Garon, would make sense.

Bryzgalov is THAT bad, even if he's being paid 1,5 to back up.

To be fair, I'd have more faith in Bryz than I do in Jeff "My Playoff Numbers Make Fleury Look Stable" Zatkoff.

People do need to realize who we're talking about here. The resident unemployed nut bag goaltender of the decade.

Fleury isn't unemployed.

That would more or less guarantee the Pens would have the most hilarious four game postseason run in league history.

I wouldn't worry unless the Isles swapped GMs with your GM.

Bryzgalov isn't as bad as people like to believe, he's downright decent-good if handled properly.

Did Roy/Hextall come out of retirement? Bryz isn't nuts he's just got a weird sense of humor.

Sorry, but he's better than Jeff Zatkoff.

I could live with it as long as Vokoun is back for the playoffs. Watch the hilarity ensue during the meaningless regular season (assuming not even MAF and Bryz can play us out of the playoffs) and then go into the playoffs with the rock solid Vokoun. That'd be cool.

Wouldn't Brad Theissen and Eric Hartzell be closer ?

I say do it, Pittsburgh.

Definitely worth it. Fleury-Bryz is quite serviceable, even despite recent struggles for both.

Pitt is in win now territory. And will be for awhile. No time for prospects.

If this were to happen, and as long as the contract is ok... there isn't much risk here.

Bryz had some quality games for Philly. He's an OK goalie. He is certainly better than much that is out there.

Who would qualify as the more sane one?

I will grant that it could be worse. For example, as Greg Wyshynski notes (https://twitter.com/wyshynski) . . .

The Fleury/Bryzgalov tandem would be an upgrade over the alternative, which is an empty net with a flashing neon arrow above it.

Also where the **** would we get the cap space to sign Mr.Humongous Big?
Remember what Ray Shero said after the season . . . it's about putting an entertaining product on the ice. This surely would qualify.
