Did Roy/Hextall come out of retirement? Bryz isn't nuts he's just got a weird sense of humor.
His sense of humor has nothing to do with it.

Just imagine the fun that a Mason/Emery vs. Fleury/Brysgalov playoff series would be...the goals total for each game would look like most teams shots-on-goal per game totals...

As a Pens fan, I DO NOT want this. Already have a fragile goalie in Fleury and don't need the two of them "pushing each other". Let Zatkoff get his opportunity. If Vokoun is out for the season or for a long stretch and Zatkoff just isn't cutting it, MAYBE you can bring in a vet. I just don't want it to be Bryzgalov. No thanks.

Bryzgalov was nothing but a solid backup in Anaheim although it's been a while. He was the perfect backup and had incredible playoff numbers and the sample size of those numbers isn't as small as you might think.

I hope they sign him. He would destroy that team like a cancer from the inside out. He's welcome to duck all the pucks he wants to then

And when that nut job outplays the incumbent nut job leading up to Vokoun's return? Because you know that will happen . . .

So would Bryz back-up Fleury, or vice-versa?

Wouldn't really matter. One would start, get pulled halfway through the game anyways.

Half way through the game is generous. They would both play half of each period and get pulled 3 times.

In the playoffs maybe, Fleury does just fine in the regular season.

I doubt this happens but I guess it makes some sense, especially if the Pens wind up getting word from the doctors that Vokoun is unlikely to be able to come back this year. That hasn't happened yet though. He still wants to play this year last I heard but the doctors haven't given him or the Pens a timetable yet.

Bryz isn't perfect and has struggled mightily the last two times he's played in the playoffs but he's at least a proven NHL goalie. The other options are not good. Vokoun may not be able to play this year and Zatkoff is a totally unproven 26 year old that's never played an NHL game.

I just imagined Fleury being bought out by the Pens, only to be signed by the Flyers. This circle never ends.

Seriously, this goalie tandem would be fantastic to watch with boys guys being crazy inconsistent. Metro is sooo scaaary!
