The Leafs are an atrocious possession team and if one doesn't have the puck one is not going to score very often. If the Leafs play like they did last year over an 82 game schedule they'll be incredibly lucky to make the playoffs.

I just thought the two bolded sentences were funny being in the same post.

It was a lower body injury before, WTF did he do?

Edit:

John Lu ‏@JohnLuTSNMtl 7s
#Habs Therrien says Murray suffered his upper body injury in yesterday's practice. He was trying to come back from a lower body injury.

Therrien says he will stay with 6 D and with light schedule for season start will not call up D from Hamilton.

Already 3 defensemen with long term injuries.

It's good news for Tinordi but whatever depth we thought we had on defense is suddenly evaporated early in the season.

Who do you think should be the 1st callup? I say it's Patteryn.

I'm not surprised. In an interview he did with hockey inside out, he talked about his injury and somewhat implied that he had been playing injured for some time (seasons?). I think he aggravated existing injuries in training.

With Murray's style of game, I'm not surprised that

1. He has existing injury/injuries
2. He's used to playing through them

I cannot see how it couldn't be Pateryn. Want to see more of Nygren before confirming him.

This is purely in speculation of course, but say you were in Murray's shoes, and you had a lingering injury going into a UFA summer, coming off a poor season, and being 33 years of age.

Would you risk getting surgery during the offseason, and potentially put another 'buyer beware' mark over your head.

Or, would you push through.

I think that answer is obvious.

Again, speculative.

I hear where you come from and I see where you're going but I strongly believe the Habs could immediately void the contract if it were to be proven that Murray deliberately hid an injury from them.

Yea I'm sure it'll be Pateryn.

When did Drewiske get injured again? He should only have 2 or 3 weeks left on his recovery I think?

Check the first post Sept 19. So if everything's on schedule, around 3 more weeks.

Next, expect an out-of-body injury. Then we're good.

This is bad news. I was really hoping for Murray to be in the opening lineup. This is an opportunity for Jarred Tinordi to show us he be a physical presence and defensive stud. Let's hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

Funny how all our defensive depth disappeared instantly.

I don't think he would have been ready anyways to start the season.

Oh well, too bad...really wanted Murray in there to help Parros contain Orr and McLaren.

NOVEMBER should be an interesting month:
<Emelin may come back
<Murray should come back in

So we already have to replace the original replacement for an other injured D and we're still awaiting first puck drop. Let's hope it's not going to be one of those seasons.

Silver lining: the 2nd replacement is an upgrade on the first one.

As is the case almost every season. In 2010-2011 we lost Gorges and Markov, that was a huge blow. I still think a healthy habs lineup that post season (including an almost killed Pacioretty) could have done some serious damage. Price was at the top of his game, we almost got past Boston, the cup champs, in a close series despite having multiple injuries.

It's the same story every season.

So we have Bouillon and Diaz in our top 6 to start the season?

Not good...
