Lindholm may get some starts with Sbisa out. The Perrault trade suggests that Holland and Rakell are probably going to be sent down.

Lindholm tied for third among all players in goals scored in the preseason. And t-2cd among defensemen.

Horvat is back with the Knights. Shinkaruk will be going back after Kassian returns.

I heard Letang suffered a lower body injury.

So if he is out for an extended amount of time does this improve Olli "Mad Dog" Maatta's chances of making the opening night roster?

Probably not. Just means more ice time for Despres now.

@ShawnMcKenzie89

Sens Murray said Zibanejad decisions based on performance. "other guys stepped up and he did nothing about it"

Does that mean Zibanejad was sent to AHL?

Those two clips look very similar to what i've seen in highlights of him playing in Europe, so I guess his game has transitioned to the smaller ice well, so far.

I think Dallas got a steal with him at #10

Griffin Reinhart has made the 23-man roster. No word on the lineup that night though. I would pair him with Visnovsky and scratch Hickey.

Sean Monahan and Sven Baertschi both made the Flames.

I'm kind of surprised Strome didn't make it.

Excited to see how they do you guys. I was hoping so hard on draft day that Monahan would slide to Buffalo. He's gonna be a good player.

Anyway, several of Buffalo's youngsters made the final cut.
Forwards: Grigorenko, Girgensons, Larsson, Armia (IR; most likely sent down to Rochester when his hand heals)
Defense: Pysyk, Ristolainen, Zadorov (IR; will be nice for him to skate with the team for a bit, but I'd be shocked if he wasn't sent back to London once he's healthy)

You don't need to pretend you're happy with that pick.

Nieto, Hamilton and Hertl. First time ever the Sharks will start three players younger than the franchise.

With Despres being sent down and Pouliot being sent back to the WHL it looks like Maatta has made the roster for the time being with Letang's injury. I still didn't think he had a chance of making the roster because of Despres but looks like that has changed. Not sure he'll stick longer than the 9 games but a good experience for him anyway. Also Mad Dog seems like the complete opposite of the type of game he plays .

For the

RW Alex Chiasson - 2nd line alongside Eakin and Whitney; net presence on first PP.
RW Valeri Nichushkin - 3rd line minutes to start with. May see some PP time.
D Kevin Connauton - 7th D to start the season. Hopefully will soon beat Jordie Benn to a regular spot in the line-up.
LW Lane MacDermid - fighter, can play. 12th/13th forward

I 'm not. Snow told fans at a booster club meeting in June, that he wanted d Strome to get 40 games in the AHL.

Cappy spoke in training camp about youngsters who looked good, but needed some AHL time. He did not mention Strome, but I did not think he was talking about Nelson, Donovan , De Haan or Sundstrom because they played in the ahl last season.
