Selanne and Kariya did alright after playing in Colorado. Smyth was decent in L.A.
Gigučre was still good before he went to Toronto.
I wouldn't say half of those guys flourished.
Tim Connolly's career faded, good for you. Craig Anderson flourished as soon as he left Colorado, but you won't see Maple Leafs fans claiming careers flourish when they leave Colorado. If you want to start a discussion go talk with your fellow Avs fans how you can get Erik Johnson to play on all three defensive pairings.

Connolly was pretty bad in his last season with Buffalo, I was shocked to see Burke sign him and then to say he signed him to be the top line center just blew my mind. The Leafs tried to sign Brad Richards and when they didn't Burke thought that Connolly was the best remaining center and signed him.
The good new for the Leafs is that Richards signed with New York instead of them.
I can only guess that anyone wondering why no team has given him a contract either didn't watch very closely or is not a very good judge of a player's performance. He was terrible in his last 3 seasons.
Well, first the Curse of the Sabres, followed abruptly by the Curse of the Maple Leafs. Curses!
He definitely showed promise by nagging injuries derailed him and probably affected him mentally too. By all accounts in his last year in Toronto he was a good leader for the Marlies team but not quite good enough to crack the NHL roster.
