Our goal scoring will struggle as we need need to score 4 goals to win a game, on the bright side we will win 6 games by shoot out..hopefully one on the last game of the season to sneak into the playoffs and go on to win the Cup
I doubt we will have a SV% below the .900 Bryz put up last season.

-Streit actually plays well and puts up 45+ points. Yes, he will have his problems, but overall he will be a more offensive version of Matt Carle.

-Giroux breaks 90 points again, I think it will actually be 100.

-Lavy isn't fired(just saying this because everyone else is saying the opposite)

-Simmonds has a huge year.

-Brayden Schenn, although people seem to think he isn't improving, will have a 55 point season. He has improved his PPG the first two years in the NHL. Let's all remember he has played less NHL games than Couts. He will struggle at first with the switch to wing, but will come on strong.

-Some people will try to hard to voice their displeasure with the site. I don't understand it, if you don't like it, don't post here. I never understood the reason behind complaining about a website you can't stand. Just ignore it. It's that simple. You won't always agree with everyone, but it creates conversation.

All kidding aside, predictions:

-Mez stays healthy and plays the 2nd most minutes on the team

-Jake gets put with Schenn and Schenn goes on to score 25+

-Simmonds and Hartnell both score 25+

-Read plays with Giroux and scores 30+

- Giroux scores 86 points and finally hits 30 goals, exactly.
- Voracek comes back to earth a bit and finishes the season with 32 goals and 68 points.
- Hartnell has a comeback season scoring 30 goals and 60 points.
- B. Schenn plays well and then has injury troubles for a lot of the season.
- Lecavalier stays healthy and plays 75+ games but only puts up 62 points.
- Mason is brutal and by december is starting one out of every 5-6 games.
- Couturier finally wins 50% of his faceoffs and plays great in a shutdown roll but finishes the season with 36 points. HF calls him a bust.
- Mez is healthy and plays 20+ minutes a game.
- Timonen plays well in a slightly diminished roll and is resigned in March for another year for $4.5m.
- Flyers finish 6th or 7th.

-Hartnell improves from last year but may struggle to reach 50 points.
-Voracek regresses from last year's point pace (really, a disproportionate amount of people seem to have him pegged as a close-to PPG player after a shortened season). Gets around 60 pts.
-Streit does some good things, some bad, gets a decent sum of points but those bad things will outshine all else. Discontent will grow with some.
-Mason and Emery both struggle; both due to team defense and lack of own performance.
- IF Laughton gets significant time, we will soon see that he'll probably cap off at a 30-point 3rd line C.

And... missed playoffs. I do think that the fact that the team has played so similarly bad in the preseason really is a legitimate omen.

Flyers start off Hot , Mason gets on a good role. And we finish October in the top 4 of the Eastern Conference.

Streit is a pp diffrence maker, and the team as a whole is a pp juggernaut. We continue to struggle in EV play but lavy makes adjustments to remedy this. Mason ends the year with a 912 sv percentage and is our clear number 1 heading into the playoffs.

Kimmo has a horrifiic season ending injury in january and decides to retire. Gus's minutes go up and his play is very encouraging.

Laughton is unimpressive in 9 games and goes back to oshawa.

Akeson, mcginn, and noebels all have time with the big club and all look like they belong.

Hartnell, giroux and voracek have big years. Couturier makes big strides and looks ready to be a 2c. Vinny is just so so, and schenn becomes an afterthought.

Well for the first half of the year before the olympic break the giroux voracek and hartnell line is the only line that can score during even strength. However after the break and many line combinations lavy finally is able to get the top 2 lines rolling.

-Giroux scores 31 goals and 66 assists for 97 points with 4 games to go but can't make it to 100
-Timonen missed 10+ games but he and Streit both end up with 40-50 points
-Couturier and Schenn both have good but not great years
-Mason ends up winning the starting role and ends the season with a .910sv% and 2.70gaa
-D struggles but less injuries
-LSchenn leads the league D in hits.
-Grossman misses 30+ games and Gus fills in doing meh
-Rinaldo gets suspended for nothing
-Team starts the season slow but picks up as the season goes along
-End up 7th in east but with a lot of momentum carried over from end of season streak

Also I was wondering if at some point during the season the lines might look like this.

Hartnell-Giroux-Lecavelier
Schenn-Couturier-Voracek
Read-Laughton-Simmonds
Talbot-Hall-Rinaldo

I feel like they're going to try to give Couturier more offensive responsibility and the only way to do that is move Lecavelier up to RW. Maybe putting Voracek down with Schenn and Couturier could help them get their offense going a bit more

-The Flyers do well enough in the regular season to make the playoffs.

-That's all I predict.

I think Giroux, Schenn, and Read point up good numbers. Defense struggles and goaltending is still a little shaky. But one goalie gets hot and we squeak into the playoffs.

The Flyers will be the top finishing sports team in Philadelphia, They will once again lift Philadelphia out of the ' LOSER" stereotype which has plagued Philadelphia off and on for decades........Matt Read will prove to be money well spent and the Ray Emery/ Steve Mason combo will ride a wave of confidence and be nails for our club. Couts will start rolling on offense, and Mr Hartnell will have his best NHL season to date. Drop the puck !

Doesn't look like that's going to be too hard (if you discount the Union).

Only if Rinne comes with Weber, especially since we'd ben losing Couturier's 2-way play. You need at least one center like Couturier to be a Cup contender. A goalie helps too.

i dont think for win cup you need the best goalie the pens having fleury in 2009
mason is better that fleury.

laughton is not better that couturier but he can be #3 center
1giroux
2lecavalier
3laughton
4hall
and schenn

Despite Fleury being laughable now back then he was a pretty good goalie. He played out of his mind the year they lost the cup & then played good enough the next year to win it for them.

I see no way Mason is better than Fleury, and Fleury was a solid goalie in their Cup run.

You need a VERY good two way center. Trading Couturier gives that up. We take a step forward, then take a step back...and still wouldn't have the goaltending.
