Thoughtworthy!

Zetterberg-Bäckström-Alfredsson//Its time this is tried. Mårts can't chicken out. Z and Dats got all the chemistry in the world, Z and Bäckström can make it work too. Mårts wants two scoring lines, stick these two together. Safest bet for a good second line!

Brodin-E. Karlsson//Its essential to have a right hand shot on the blueline with Bäckström. 1/3 of the plays he make is to a right handed shot. Super competent puck-skills on this pair. You don't forecheck against these! (all five) Leaning against three defense pairings though which means OEL-Karlsson

I saw AL in a pre-season game, he is looking strong this year. Good size and good shots on this D pairing, all the Sedin needs! Pissed for being left out of the WC team?

Franzen-Jimmie Ericsson-Landeskog//Strong character checking line. Jimmie will make it work. I am going with him over Patrick Berglund right now... Stålberg instead of Franzén?

Grossman-Kronwall//You need a 100% defensive competent blueline, and this pair gives us that. A hit! Ericsson might be a candidate as well as Hedman.

Hagelin-Lundqvist-Steen//Like this line!

OEL-Hedman//I don't quite like this D-pairing for 4th D duty, but I don't know... They are depth if nothing else and can chip in on any pairing if needed.[/QUOTE] If Hedman can leave it all to Oliver.

OEL-HEDMAN isnt a 4th pairing, more a 2-3 pairing. Specially OEL is a better player than most. Wouldnt suprise me if his ranked #2D in Sweden come jan 2014. Though we do have quite a lot of options on D (which is good obviously, there is always injures and stuff like that). Ericsson could perhaps be a safer player than Hedman, Ericsson has improved his defense and is more experienced. How the season develops will deside I guess.

OEL is already our second best defenseman, after that it gets tougher.

Brodin over Hedman and Edler? So you expect a good season for him I guess. But you can trust that both of the other too will, elevate their game this season too.

Since Edler is suspended for three games, I see no problem in having someone else in the first three pairings. If wanted, Edler can be switched with any player when his suspension is over. And yes, id rather have Brodin than Hedman.

Two games he is suspended. Which gives him a game to compete with Enström and Oduya etc.

The arena will be on fire when the swedes and the russians meet in the final. The ice surface is BIG in Europe! Europeans come home while the NA goes away.

I got a new idea this morning: Enström and Hedman!

Like this:

OEL - Karlsson
Enström - Hedman (The new Adam Foote, defense team leader, leaving it all to One-Streamer)
Kronwall - Ericsson
Hjalmarsson - Oduya
Edler

(we use 13 forwards and nine defensemen!) Because if we have the absolutely best 6 defenders for the quarterfinals we will be hard to beat! We might experiment with six or eight defenders as well.

A "No distractions" team: (competitive players, safe bets, no development players, players used to big ice recently who have all the reflexes and angels built into the system, no one trick pony players, players who deliver right about now, international players, players who fill roles and are happy whatever minutes given)

Maybe with the exception of one or two cocky Stockholm players, but they know it

Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Zetterberg - Bäckström - Alfredsson
Silfverberg - Söderberg - Ericsson
Steen - Lundqvist - Landeskog
Pääjärvi - Thörnberg

Ekman-Larsson - Karlsson
Enström - Hedman
Kronwall - Kronwall
Hjalmarsson - Fransson

Lundqvist
Enroth / Tellqvist

Jimmie Ericsson, J.Lundqvist and Thörnberg are far from safe bets at this level.

Id love to see Söderberg, but Berglund has to be on the team, if he develops chemistry with MPS, even better.

Jimmie and Thorney have 9 goals in 8 games together And the more twins you got on the team the better!

Per Albrant is preforming magic in SHL at the moment. He might be a candidate as fourth liner and PP specialist.

no thanks. but in world championship? yes. only candidate from euro right now should be jimmie ericsson. the guy is a total beast. he would be a good 3rd liner in NHL.

True, if we do bring a player from europe (witch I hope we dont) I want it to be him. Id rather have him than Lundqvist, but I have a bad feeling both will be on the team..

Zetterberg - Bäckström - Alfredsson - Perfect in all aspects

Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson - Worked well at the WC, no need to change anything here.

Steen - Berglund - Franzén - Powerful line, can be used both offensively and defensively

Stålberg - Krüger - Hagelin - A really speedy line, maybe not optimal as a fourth line, but I think it will work.

Extras:Silverberg, Zibanejad

Defenders:
Hjalmarsson
Ekman-Larsson
Karlsson
Edler
Brodin
Hedman
Enström
Kronwall

Goalies:
Lundqvist
Enroth
Fasth

I think that Enroth deserves the spot behind Lundqvist, since he played really well at the last WC.

I hope players like Nyqvist, Forsberg, Backlund, Söderberg and MPS gets a good start, and maybe one of them might snatch one of the last spots on the roster.
