Swedish Junior Leagues 2013/14

Time to get this started.

There's gonna be a lot more games streamed this season via www.livearena.com if I understand it right, but for 59SEK/month. Still, a step in the right direction and hopefully TV4 Sport will continue broadcasting.

Young CZE talent switching from North-American leagues to Sweden? Best CZE line at Hlinka tournament playing in SWE. Vrana-Pastrnak-Vopelka.

They killed us and then they scored scored all three goals against Russia. Would be nice to get some more raw talent from the Czechs and Slovaks, those three being early picks next draft would help.

Even if the Czech federation probably would like them to develop at home (as evident with the new rule in Extraliga), they're probably very happy with having them in Sweden over the CHL as their players are available for national team play.

Looks like Frölunda will play that junior tournament in Russia instead of the winners HV71

Yup. Too bad it's so far away, would've been a nice weekend holiday if it was in Riga or something.

Impressive performance by Färjestad. Kylington had a decent tournament, lead all players in scoring and +/-.

What's the general level of play like in the J20 Elit? Better or worse than J18 Elit/Allsvenskan?

After Christmas J18Allsvenskan is better. There are just a couple of good teams every year in J20Elit, and it's filled with players lacking either ambition or the necessary skills. Very rarely do you see anyone playing in that league go on to do anything higher than Swe-3/div.1.

Not including guys who are playing in the league as toddlers, like Adam Thilander, obviously.

Anyone got some input to why Edgar Treijs moved from LHC to Rögle?

There's a Forsberg, Lidström, Näslund and Zetterberg playing for Västerås J18.

Hello everyone!

Can anyone tell me how Kevin Fiala is looking so far this year? Very curious if he can make the first two rounds of the NHL draft.

I've only seen him once but he was absolutely dominant in that game. His talent is through the roof, I remember one shift in particular where he created 3 or 4 grade A chances all by himself and scored on the last one. Not sure why he hasn't scored at an even higher pace, perhaps I just watched one of his better games.

Thanks a lot for your reply, sounds promising.

In case you see him playing again anytime soon, I would appreciate an update! Thanks again

Prospector Files: Frolunda again boasting top talent

Anton Karlsson:
Quote:
"He's a physical player and effective on the forecheck," Stubb said. "He works real hard and finishes his checks well."
Julius Bergman:
Quote:
"He's strong on his skates and has improved both his acceleration and overall skating from last year," Stubb told NHL.com. "He's an effective two-way player with good offensive instincts.
Kevin Elgestål:
Quote:
"He's very active and involved on every shift," Stubb said. "He's a good skater with a quick shot, highly competitive, determined and used in all game situations. He could improve his overall technical skills."

Is it time to hype Alex Nylander yet? His J18 Allsvenskan production is in line with the best that league has seen from U16's, and almost all of them are/were great prospects.

Anyone watching him play?
