And for Vinny, it would be nice to have a plyer like that on the team, even if I don't like him. But anyways, we don't have the cap room and we don't have what it would take to trade for him so I'm not even thinking about it.
The Garth character (Sabres blogger) on Eklunds site points out that apparently Ryder, Abby, and a first round pick is what it would take to get Vinny.
You are wrong by far . It's not the first time that Eklund says something intelligent . Most of the fans that know him , just see the guy that is making up rumours . But i read his blog regulary , and most of the time , he even doesn't talk about rumours ,but about a lot of things that are related to the hockey , the gms , the rules etc ...
Around 2-3 weeks ago , he also talked about the rumours themself ; where they come from and how they are classified . follow the link and read the second part of the article .
Have you guys read the comments? He also responds to stuff sometimes via comments. For example on the comments of that article he says:
There is not a player alive that I respect more than Saku. However, he isn't the guy. You do need the guy the be a superstar and FC. Saku is a star, no questions asked.
A lot of people dislike Ek for some reason but he tells you up front where his rumours come from. Just because stuff don't happen, doesn't mean the GMs weren't talking about it. Or do you REALLY think we have not already entertained offers for Abby? Come on.
If all it would take to get Vinny would be Abby Ryder and 1st I would do it in a millisecond. You afraid of teh salary not fitting, send NIiniimaa to the minors.
Abby + Ryder + Niinimaa = 6.6M Lecavalier = 6.5M (or so, i didn't look it up, might be 6.75)
