It's frustrating to be a diehard fan of a team that plays in a garage league.

As usual, he was great for one half of the game but can't give a 60 minutes effort.

White should replace Parros for our next game. If it wasn't for the likely injury, I'd advocate sitting Moen.

Briere looks like a perfect fit for Montreal, joining the recent long list of guys who aren't worth their contracts.

And Subban can kiss any chance of another Norris goodbye as long as this coaching staff is in place. 44 seconds of shorthanded time... Bravo.

Fact....let's just hope the Habs can win 3 of the 4 in between. They lost the season series last year.

It became tackle hockey at the end... but Prust got an extra two for taking punches from the goon?

Still an entertaining game. If we would have won, and with no Parros injury, we would have enjoyed it very much.

Opening game thoughts

Top 2 lines didn't show up. Briere was hustling but a non-factor. Desharnais, Bourque, Plekanec...where were you?

EGG Line. Great. What else can you say?

Prust-Moen-Parros. Warriors. Moen played better tonight than all of last season. Parros kicked ass (Get better soon). Prust was Prust.

Defence...horrid! Here I was thinking they were just bad. So slow, small and soft.

Price...meh. He was average.

Don't worry guys, remember when we lost the first game last year? We went on to win the division. I'm still optimistic.

Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher should be line #1. Who cares if they make mistakes. They're magical.

The other 6... I don't even know what to do with them. Honestly. I'm willing to give Briere/DD/Patch another game or two because they looked great in the pre-season - but Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta is just a bad line altogether.

Gionta is basically a grinder at this point in his career. He's got no creativity anymore and he hits the net even less then he used to a few years ago.

I thought Moen played a good game. He was hustling all game long, playing physical and he backed Prusty up with a fight

I'll repeat it: the vets aren't ready like last season. People were telling me that is was pre-season, nothing more, and no need to panic. I wasn't panicking. I was just relating what I saw. The core veterans are not hungry. This will look like Jacques Martin's last season, where the vets didn't show up early on. If not for the kids and the goalie, this team woud have been demolished tonight.

Oh, and we're still too tiny up front. And the blue line misses Emelin very much. Diaz-Gorges-Cube in your top six makes it one of the worst defensive corps in the conference. PK will need to play 30 mins in order for Therrien to take some time off the midgets. And it won't happen.

Price was solid tonight, even with a less than stellar save per. Imagine that.

GG guys.

Eller looks incredible. Gardiner is an extremely fast skater and he couldn't catch up with Eller- very impressive.

Hope Parros is okay.

Until next time

I know it is game 1, but really

same old thing DD sucks, weak on the boards, and the kids shine

our captain is weak, markov is done

MB needs to still get tougher, and Tonordi needs to hit,
I cant believe how they don't hit, sad.
