Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher should be line #1. Who cares if they make mistakes. They're magical.
The other 6... I don't even know what to do with them. Honestly. I'm willing to give Briere/DD/Patch another game or two because they looked great in the pre-season - but Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta is just a bad line altogether.
Gionta is basically a grinder at this point in his career. He's got no creativity anymore and he hits the net even less then he used to a few years ago.
I'll repeat it: the vets aren't ready like last season. People were telling me that is was pre-season, nothing more, and no need to panic. I wasn't panicking. I was just relating what I saw. The core veterans are not hungry. This will look like Jacques Martin's last season, where the vets didn't show up early on. If not for the kids and the goalie, this team woud have been demolished tonight.
Oh, and we're still too tiny up front. And the blue line misses Emelin very much. Diaz-Gorges-Cube in your top six makes it one of the worst defensive corps in the conference. PK will need to play 30 mins in order for Therrien to take some time off the midgets. And it won't happen.
Price was solid tonight, even with a less than stellar save per. Imagine that.
