Daniel Paille to Habs

In my opinion, he's a great 3rd-4th line winger, who can grind it out, and has a scoring touch. Would love to see him on the Habs. What would it take?

Scoring touch? He's called stone hands.

But NO

Bruins would never trade Paille to the Habs. He is a fan favorite and an organization favorite.

Where do we have room for Paille? Why do we need him?

Last thing the Habs need is a bottom 6 player. They are set there.

Montreal needs a top 6 winger with size preferably on the RW.

Briere and Desharnais need to be on opposite lines and Pacioretty needs a big winger to play with either one of the small centers in Desharnais or Briere. Pacioretty needs the help to do a lot of gritty work.

I think it could end now....

There's nothing to argue. Paille is a good bottom-6 player, Habs don't need him and have more pressing areas to improve.

It would take overpayment, overpayment not worth it for someone like him.

He's either a terrific 3rd liner or the best 4th liner. He's worth so much to us. Wouldn't think about trading him to the Habs.

I think the habs are hoping Bournival could end up like a Dan Paille.

He's not a dangler by any stretch, but you don't have to dangle to have a scoring touch. He had 10G in 46 games last year when given a chance to move up a line. He'll never be more than a bottom 6er, but I don't think it's disingenuous to say that he's got a decent scoring touch for a 4th line winger.

Anyhoo, not sure he's available. Chris Kelly, on the other hand, but might end being available.

Pesky, super fast. I like him.

I also feel if he leaves that team, he'll be nothing.

The Bs fourth line is arguably the best in the NHL. I honestly wouldn't trade Paille for anything less than a 2nd rounder right now. It makes no sense. His chemistry with soupy and thorts combined with his elite PK ability makes this a no brainer for me. A 3rd rounder won't help us win the cup this year, plain and simple.

I doubt nothing, but you'd be disappointed for sure.

He's a perfect player for this system, very defensively sound, can play on two lines, really cheap cap hit, physical, tough... Claude trusts him a lot. He really thrives in this type of system. On any team he'd be a really good 4th liner and elite defensively and on the PK, but not as well as in Boston.

I really feel that the only way the Bruins would trade Paille to Montreal is if it made them a worse team. So if they want Paille just give up the far better player and they can have him and we all know that isn't going to happen.

The 2 biggest rivals in the league who finished 1 and 2 in their division, one team went to the finals, they hate each other, they just aren't going to make each other better.

The last time these two teams made a trade was in 2001: Eric Weinrich for Patrick Traverse...nuff said.

They aren't in the business of doing business together, nor should they be.

To be honest with our aspirations, the system and that line I think it would take even more for me to consider parting with him this year (unless it is a roster player that could make a better impact of course). B's are no way going to make their team worse this year for futures unless it is crazy.

Short answer: way more then you are willing to give up.

Slap Bourque on the right wing (his preferred side) with Pacioretty on left and Briere at Center, Bourque would become the digger, Briere the setup man and Pacio the sniper

Promote the kids line to second line

add Prustt to the left of Plekanec and Gionta, becomes a Defesnive specialty line with a touch of scoring

Moen / Bournival / White - Parros (when he gets back)

improves the size and the stabikity on just about every line
DD odd man out, trade bait

Bruins are all set with the team going forward. We will not be making any trades, especially with the Habs. Prepare to overpay if you want someone who is criminally underrated.

If you promise to keep him in the pressbox, the Sens will add a 4th to any deal on your behalf.
