Should have a good chance of winning against the Flyers considering their ****** defence.

Right that's fine and I would assume Rielly will be in sometime soon if not tonight. Referring more to people posting about starting to dislike Gardiner, but he is likely the more dependable d-man for now.

Gardiner is a great player with good vision and skating ability but he better cut down those risky plays he makes on every shift or he's not going to be on the team for very long.

I can't really blame Carlyle for scratching him (if it happens) because he was the worst D out there for the Leafs.
...He says, based on Rielly's 0 games of NHL or AHL experience

I think you mean...He says based on Rielly's 22 AHL games (regular + playoff) and 8 preseason games.

Let's play the "what if" game. What if Bernier has a great game tonight? Better than what Reims did last night. Lots of great saves, allows 2 goals or less, and gets the W. Who starts on Saturday?

Really hoping Gardiner isn't benched after 1 game.

If Rielly plays I think Ranger sits for a game.

True I forgot the AHL, but the preseason is not a good indicator.

That man does not represent us.

Sorry Cor, you're on your own on that front .. BB >> TWD and it's not even close

Anyways IMO Ranger sits tonight and Rielly goes in .. Any changes to the forward group? I hope Ashton gets more ice time, the 4th line isn't a great place for him to play for his development

Bodie looked better than Ashton last night. Everything should stay the same on the forward front.

Mason, Bernier and Reimer... all from the same draft year. Will be interesting.

I like the idea of getting Rielly into the game, if only because we could use some fresh legs on a back-to-back with so much travel in between. I'm not entirely sure who I'd take out, but it's a decision Carlyle is paid to make. Don't envy him one bit.

Rielly would be a huge boost for the defense .. It's a toss up between Ranger and Gardiner, both players were responsible for a goal however Gards looked better overall IMO

Also if you take out Gards, you'll have to slide Ranger up to play with Franson and I just don't think Ranger played well enough last night to justify it

Beside I wanna see Rielly-Gardiner on the PP

Paul Hendrick @HennyTweets
Riemer, clarkson /rielly arrive at the rink . Look to be the only leafs skating this morning. Likely confirms that bernier starts. #TMLtalk

Looks like Rielly stays in the press box tonight.

I think this is a good idea - it would be a shame to punish ranger or gardiner so quickly after the first game. And you never really want to mess with a winning lineup anyways.

The only change is Bernier - not unexpected, but still IMO an unnecessary risk.
