I'm really liking the schef-fish-eaves line on the PP though. They have been doing so well and work their butts off. They produce good quality chances.
Haven't almost half of Heatley's goals been in 2 games?

And you're holding this against him because....

Half of Hossa's goals have happened in 4 games...

I've been finding that in the blow-out games where Heatley ends up scoring, it's usually either early in the game, giving us the early lead, which we build on, or, at the point of the game where the other team is at the do or die stage, and he's iced the game.

With the way that this season has gone, there are very few unimportant goals.

I am curious to see what he and Hossa get as UFA in 2008. Hossa will be coming off a season where he'll be earning $7M, and Heatley will be coming off a season earning $5.5M.

People can talk about cap hits all they want, but, IMO, when it comes to salary negotiations, it always seems like a player's take-home salary is what is used as the starting point. Ottawa's got a shot at resigning Heatley in the $6M range, but, it'll be a tough pill to swallow. I think this summer, Ottawa will be examining how they see Heatley fitting into the teams long term future. It's happening right at the stage where Ottawa will reach a crossroads.

I have no idea how Hossa's negotiations will go. If he does demand a raise, he'll probably be at around a cap hit of $7.5M. With the season he is having, and, given that Atlanta, who is finally having things go well for themselves, probably will not want to part ways. With another highly paid forward on their roster, they'll have some very interesting decisions to make

Um, what?

You can make that point but where he scored his two hat tricks has nothing to do with it. Do you remember when he scored those hat tricks? Florida and Toronto. Heatley basically stole the game from Florida by his lonesome and games against Toronto are always huge. Only someone like you can find somthing negative from Heatley scoring. Waaah, it wasn't at the right time. Waaaah, it was only a rebound. Waaaah, I want Hossa. Jeez.

Yeah, it's not as if Heatley's latest hat-trick wasn't clutch.

We were winning 5-4 when Heatley salted it away at 6-4 with his 3rd goal.

Without his hat-trick, on a mathematical basis, we would have lost the game 4-3.

That's the best kind of hat-trick IMHO.

Hey. I'm just stating my opinion. There are many games where he hasn't shown up at all. Where we could have used just one goal from our sniper.

Maybe Heatley should score all of the sens goals - would that make you happy?? He is human you know, and there are going to be games where all top scorers in the NHL don't score. I think you expect too much.

Yeah heatleys ****ing lazy dont mind the fact that no ones even scored 60+ goals in years he should be getting, at least a important goal every game. Maybe if he scored 30 or 40 game winners you'd be happy? In fact if he doesnt score at least 150 im going to quit being a sens fan and maybe cut myself.

As a basis for comparison:

Hossa has scored in 12 different games (out of 25) and earned points in 17.

Heatley has scored in 9 different games (out of 24) and earned points in 18.

Most scorers go through peaks and valleys.

Anyone else get the impression that if Dany Heatley went on and scored one goal, and just one goal, every game of the season, that he'd be criticized by some here for not having any game where he goes out and dominates.
