MacKinnon getting PK time in his first NHL start. That's pretty impressive for a high-end offensive player.

Coming from an Avs fan, it would be even more impressive if we had defensively responsible players or a good D group overall.

They look pretty good so far tonight.

I've always liked Colorado--Sakic was my favorite non-Flyer growing up, and I was a teenage during their cup runs, so I remember them pretty well. Now that I'm a bit further west, I figure I'll catch some more of their games than I have in the past.

Sakic might be my favorite player all-time.

It's just one game against a non-elite team so I wouldn't take too much stock into it. We're an extremely young, extremely unbalanced, up-and-coming team.

I can't like Colorado -- even now -- because of their origins as the Nordiques. It was against the law to live in Montreal and even tolerate the Nordiques. The fact that they employed Dale Hunter sealed it.

Sick pass by MacKinnon to McGinn for his first NHL point.

See that speed mac has. I wish Couturier had a gear like that.

Imagine how slow he will be when he's in his mid 30's.

Oh man Mackinnon looks good as hell. Time to trade Duchene for a defenseman.

Michael Leighton is putting up some really good stats in the KHL. I've heard that the KHL is a rather defensive league.

The talent drop off is pretty significant when comparing the NHL & KHL.

Edit: stuck a knee out might be harsh, but it was close in a game that was out of hand, so i understood the reaction.

Oh Im not saying he was wrong. I like it. I just thought he would have mellowed out a bit as he's gotten older.

He incited a brawl from the bench a few years ago when coaching Quebec. Him & his son got nailed by the league for their actions during it.

His son is the goalie, it doesn't show it but he pretty much gooned it up towards the game with his lineup & then signaled his son down the ice to get the other goalie.

Well I typed up a huge response with my mind blown, went and got something to drink, refreshed and you edited it

haha still - Knee is the most overstatement known to man. But the way the Avs announcers were selling it like a WWF match, one would think Lovejoy went off the turnbuckle on to Mack's knee as it was propped up on a table.

Anyway. I only watched the second on and it certainly seemed Downie and Mcleod were the **** stirrers all game. Hence Getz going ****ing Hulk psycho and beating the **** out of Downie. Downie's head of rocks though can take some punches though it seems. Still Getz looked psycho, like he truly snapped. Dude is strong as ****, just tossing Downie around.

Also MacKinnon even targeted LJ a couple times in the game, so to say it was all LJ bullying Mack is a little iffy. They were going back and forth.

Saw the highlights of that Col - Ana game and wow ... Colorado embarrassed the Ducks with some beautiful passing plays. Seeing that makes me feel better about how the Flyers lost.

MacKinnon's first point

Roy being Roy/Perry being Perry

Girgenson's first goal

So would someone like to explain the logic behind sending Laughton to junior and recalling Newbury?....

There isn't any logic really. For some reason, he thinks our team needs more goons instead of skill players. Newbury and Rosewill will play like 5 minutes each and then never used for the rest of the game. Both are ****ing useless.

I mean it makes sense to send him down so he can get playing time instead of 4th line or scratched but why now? The timing is really strange
