Just saw the Fraser/Moen fight highlight on Sportscentre. Pretty funny that they spent the first 5-10 seconds of the fight talking about what to do with their helmets.

Looked like they almost agreed to take each other's helmet off to avoid the extra 2 minute penalty haha.

I don't know how Gazdic didn't get the penalty yesterday, then again I have read the actual rule. Maybe you can take it off during the fight?

Where is the "MacT should have brought in Penner" rhetoric now? Yikes.

That was just a nasty backhand by Datsyuk.

why do sports leagues even have mobile sites? They're almost completely worthless, if you click on videos in the mobile site there is nothing, the nba is like this too,

they need to scrap that garbage and fire the worthless ass they're paying to do that, whoever it is is stealing money

MacKinnon is looking pretty good in his first game.

It's hard to tell if the Avalanche have improved or if the Ducks are just really bad this year.

I think it's both. The Ducks overachieved last year and will fall back.

At least our first game wasn't that bad.

Patrick Roy is already going after the other coaches. I thought he was going to take down the glass between the benches there.

I understand why he is mad though. Lovejoy clearly tried to take out MacKinnon's knee.

When people start talking about St, patricks domestic issues, he'll get a different kind of red in the face and calm down. when you want to talk trash you better be able to handle what comes back

Absolute sickness. Dangle, snipe, celly. That's Datsyuk's motto.

I don't know why people say Crosby has the best backhand in the league when Datsyuk's doing the things he does and more on a regular basis.

Let's hope it's the latter, for sake of playoff contention.

As for MacKinnon - the kid is sick. Something very Crosby-esque about the way he skates and sees the ice.

3 1st overalls in a row for the Oil but it's COL that gets the Next One. FML.

^^^pretty much the way I see it. And Calgary will potentially get McDavid, the next NEXT one, lol. Seriously though... with Monohan/McDavid down the middle they'd already have a big leg up on Edmonton.

Colorado looks like they're ready to take a big step as well, I like their group of forwards better than Edmonton's tbh...

If you think Calgary's going to finish last you haven't been watching them the last few years.

They always manage to foul it up with a late season winning streak.

Hands down a better group of forwards - but their major weakness right now is at D - they've failed to do anything to address the position other than acquire the underwhelming Erik Johnson and grab guys like Barrie and Elliott later on in the draft.

Their forwards are amazing though. Perfect balance. The 1-2-3 combination they get with Duchene-Mackinnnon-ROR is probably the best top-3 C's you'll see over the next 10-15 years in the league.

Even their wingers are effective - Landy leads the charge, and solid complements like McGinn, Parenteau, and Stastny (now a W) to help on each line.

They just need some D for God's sake.

wonder how they managed to add toughness into their top 6, yet we have ryan smyth.....

God I hope Nuge comes back and absolutely dominates the NHL, like well over point per game. I cant stand to watch this mackinnon kid surpass nuge or hall or ebs

On another note, Danny Dekeyser is an absolute stud for the Red Wings. He's taken another step, and should likely anchor their 2nd pairing within another 10 games or so.

Great plays in both zones, and a complete rock in his own zone. It's rare this team lets young defensemen come in without any experience in the AHL (Lidstrom was the last one) - but he seems like the real deal.

Hopefully Hemsky, who is my guy don't get me wrong, stops stealing money this year and plays like a first line winger, whatever line he plays on,

Not that it's likely to happen but it would make a world of difference
