Pittsburgh Penguins prospects head into 2013-14 season with high expectations

The Pittsburgh Penguins are one of only a handful of teams in the NHL who are expected to not just make the playoffs, but compete for the Stanley Cup. Therefore, anything short of an appearance in the Stanley Cup finals will be considered a failure.

Very interesting and good article.

Loved getting an update on all those prospects.

As for expectations? If you read this board getting further than the second round does not seem to be an expectation of many.

Despite some questions about the goaltending and even the ability of some of the stars to rise to the big games, this team certainly has as much or more talent than anyone else in the league. Direction and the ability to get the most out of all that talent is the major question.

Do people really not expect to go further? Absurd.

I of course can only speak for myself, but that is the impression that I get.

I will make a poll and see how people actually think.
