Yes, happy birthday to Seth Jones. Realizing his dream on his birthday must be awesome.

Of course our two most promising forwards are out for the opener.

Aww...Wilson has to be up there. I guess you probably mean new players. However this is why we can't have nice things...

Not a great feeling about this one, but it will be good to see the guys in gold back out on the ice. Feel like the team we'll see in the second half of the season is going to be a better one than in the first half, but here's hoping we start off well anyway. Go Preds!

Don't know if they can actually produce together but but the Bourque-Cullen-Smith line will be fast.

After the worlds/preseason I have some new faith in Smith. Maybe this will be his year, but I guess that has been said before.

Cullen seems like a decent player. I'm excited to see how he pans out for us.

Why is Stalberg on IR? Good luck tonight, boys.

Hurt his shoulder in Pre-Season. At the time they said he would be out 3-4 weeks.

Not a fan really, but we'll see. I'd rather have him tied to a vet at the start rather than anchoring his own pairing.

The pairings are all righty-lefty.

Weber (R) - Josi (L)
Klein (R) - Ellis/Bartley (both L)
Jones (R) - Ekholm (L)

They're likely trying to see if this defense will hold before making a right-handed defender play the right side as was bandied about all summer.

Yeah he's a righty, but on the second pairing it really isn't going to matter since he'll be taken advantage of regardless of the side he plays on.

Strained AC if I recall correctly. Out for a few weeks.

One of the league's worst offenses =/= one of the league's best defenses

It's only his 3rd season. They call it a sophomore slump for a reason. Really hoping he can get back to his rookie form.

That's supposed to be your reaction post-game.

Pre-game, Wilson is Ovechkin and Legwand is Kopitar.

Go perds!

Hey, umm yeah, I think Ellis might be right handed. Someone else might want to verify that though.

Cooper just tweeted this:

RT @JoshuaCooper: Not sure which of my earlier tweets came through. Had problems at the rink. But looks like Ryan Ellis is the odd D out...
