I was hoping to see him on the 3rd line. There's no way he's worst than Talbot in that role.

Would Newbury be worse than Talbot on the third line?

Newbury is 31 years old and has played in 72 NHL games.

Newbury I don't get, he's a PPG in the AHL and sucks in the NHL.

Same, at least for a little while. We know by his play in the AHL he's got some skill. Maybe being used in a more offensive role would help.

When I've seen him play in the NHL it just seems like another 4th liner who likes to hit and start fights. In the AHL he actually plays hockey. I don't know why but I imagine he feels like he has to be that prototypical tough guy when in the NHL.

I imagine the Flyers feel it's better for Laughton's development and future to get a LOT of TOI in the OHL and make the WJC team than to get tough (and few) NHL minutes as of now. Every prospect can't Couturier it.

Watching the Devils-Pens NJ feed... There's one guy talking for about five minutes now, no pauses - the other guy just looking at him and nodding. Haha

Their color analyst is a moron, his name escapes me right now.

The Pittsburgh feed is the only one available on Center Ice right now, so I'm going have to deal with the likes of Steigerwald & Errey.

Hockeystreams asked me whether I want NJ or Pens feed... When asked about the Pens feed, I was just like Consuela from Family Guy - no no no no no

Edit: Jagr looks faster in 60 FPS lol

Is that confirmed? Last I heard it was an unsubstantiated rumor.

An article 'confirms' it, just don't know how reliable it is.

Quote:
An image bearing his likeness was quietly removed this summer from a ring of Penguins greats that circles the upper wall of the oval-shaped room, replaced with that of another standout alum, Mark Recchi.

Team officials declined comment on the move, other than to say the Penguins didn't want a currently active opponent having such a presence in that area.

Nothing else about Jagr's recognition from the Penguins has changed, including an image in the hallway just outside the locker room.

It is, he was replaced by Mark Recchi, they claim their reasoning is that Recchi is retired & Jagr is not. The rest of the players on it are all retired.

It makes sense to me if that truly is their reasoning.

You'd think they would have done it when he returned to the NHL to sign with us.

The Pens are lighting up guaranteed Vezina winner, Cory Schneider.

... and Chris Kelly scores a shorthanded penalty shot for Boston.
